Smaller Head, Bigger Punch
I recently bought an 8.5 degree Tour model (tour only issue) and I can't say enough about the sound, feel, and accuracy of this club. It may be smaller in volume, yet the face coverage is identical to that of the FT-3, and doesn't have the sometimes undesirable "softball bat" sound that the FT-3 has. The carbon portion of the club is smaller yet sleeker than the FT-3, and more resembles the ERC Fusion without the distracting "two-tone" look that was a downside to the ERC. It launches the ball higher than the FT-3 and FT-5, and there's a definite "nailed it" feeling on well stuck shots. Even heel and toe shots are well forgiven. And distance? I was surprised to find that the FT-2 is slightly longer than my trusty old FT-3, I'd imagine due to the higher launch and lower spin.
So for those who feel the FT-3 and FT-5 is too big, and the ERC Fusion was too small, you'll find the FT-2 is just right.
