      What You Need To Know

        Innovation

        Technology Specs

Apex Pro 16 Irons Technology Item
        • Tour Influenced Shaping and Design

This is a classic look that the best players want to see, and their extensive input played a huge role in how we designed this set.

        • Soft Feel

The 1025 mild carbon steel and advanced quadruple net forging creates the soft feel that better players prefer.

        • Progressive CG for Playability and Precision

Our multi-material design optimizes the Center of Gravity of each club. The longer irons (3-5) have more offset and a tungsten insert to lower CG for higher launch. The shorter irons (6-A) have a higher CG for a controlled, penetrating trajectory.

        • Premium Shaft Offerings

Project X stock steel offering with a wide selection of steel shaft options at no upcharge.

Apex Pro 16 Irons is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 707.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Clubs But Pay Attention to the Lofts and Distance Gapping I have never understood the disdain for a thick top line or offset, especially if the clubs perform, and the Rogue X irons perform. The ball flight is penetrating, yet these irons deliver stopping power with a good descent angle and plenty of spin. The forgiveness on mishits is quite good, and I have not had the unexpected flyer that sometimes comes with "distance" irons. The feel is exceptional, especially for a cast iron. And despite the top line and offset, they look good, too. The only thing I do not like is the numbering of the irons. Whereas most sets of irons have an A, G, or U wedge for the gap wedge between the sand wedge and pitching wedge, the Rogue X irons have both an A and a G wedge--that is two gap wedges between the sand wedge and the pitching wedge--which bumps the pitching wedge loft up to 9-iron loft, the 9 iron to 8-iron loft, etc. In fact, the lofts on the Rogue X are almost identical to those of the Rogue Pro or Apex CF16 irons, if you ignore the numbers stamped on the bottom of the clubs. Callaway seems to be considering that shaft length determines the number on the iron, but most everybody focuses on the loft. When testing, compare clubs of similar loft, and ignore the number stamped on the bottom. I still noticed a significant distance increase and better performance compared to my old irons of the same loft, ignoring the seduction of the misleading numbering. Except for this unnecessary marketing ploy, everything about the Rogue X irons is exceptional. Just pay attention to what you are getting and how it compares to your old clubs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best set of irons I’ve played in awhile I frequently change out clubs searching for a better fit and feel. I had tried the Rogue Pro irons and liked them, but as I get older I find I play better with irons that have an offset. These Rogue irons fit the bill.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 1 1/2 Clubs Longer, Easy to Launch... I replaced by Ping G's with these clubs, AW-4. I read the reviews from the "experts" on Youtube and heard the critical comments about the stronger lofts. These clubs fly longer, higher and land softer than my G's and that's how I judged them. I compared the Rogue X to my Pings on the launch monitor and the X beat the G's in every objective measurement. On the course they performed even better than on the monitor. I am hitting 1.5 clubs longer with the same/better accuracy. I can now hit my 4 iron as far as my playing partners 3 metals. On a shorter Par 4 last week, one of my buddies even commented, "I have never seen you hit an iron from this tee", I then proceeded to out distance 2 of 3 playing partners using their 3 metals and I had better accuracy. Don't listen to the Youtube reviews, hit these clubs on the monitor and compare ball speed, feel the ease of strike and take note of the accuracy. The X's are great clubs! Also,Golf Galaxy gave me a great trade-in for my G's.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very positive purchase and experience I received a 50% off bonus trade in on my 2015 XR irons. I was prepared to regip the XR's approx cost $90. The net cost for the Rogue's about $300. I thought that was a value. As a 18.6 index, I found for me after a few rounds the purchase was positive. The 5 and 6 irons provided me an easy way to gain more distance on longer par 4 and 5's. All the irons are easier to hit longer. For me getting into position to chip and 2 putt is important and the irons are an upgrade from the XR's. Thank you Callaway for the opportunity to trade up and post my opinion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great clubs for most golfers I’m a fairly high handicap who was told I shouldn’t be playing these irons. I just loved the looks and bought them without hitting prior to purchase. I went from SGI irons to these and have to say all of the people who say these are for low single digit handicaps are full of it. I hit these better than my SGI irons all day long. I doubt I am the only high handicap player whose score is based upon bad putting and erratic driving, but is a pretty good ball striker with all irons/wedges. If this sounds like you and you like the looks of these clubs, go for it! Forgiveness is all relative. Misfits are quite a bit shorter than with SGI irons, but they tend to go much straighter. That’s a trade off I will take. I have never had trouble getting the ball high, and actually wanted to flight the ball lower so the higher COG on these clubs helps my game. I hit my old irons a ton (190 yard 7 iron) and have to admit I lost about 10 yards with these clubs. But who cares if you get the distance you need by clubbing up? I’d say it certainly has more to do with the weaker lofts than the club construction. Bottom line is these are great clubs, I find them very easy to hit and great to shape shots with. Don’t be afraid to buy just because some snob tells you they are only for elite ball strikers!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These irons are good! I purchased the Apex CF16 irons because my old irons presented too much offset. My old irons were too difficult to aim/play-consistently-well. I now own irons that do not get in my way. I can score low with the Apex CF16. Lastly, the Callaway Customer Service was wonderful. I am now inclined to make all future club purchases directly from the manufacturer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Feel, it's all about the feel. Simply the feel.....unlike any other iron that has been in my bag. After years of going back and forth with cast, cavity-back, game improvement clubs,etc...a miss hit is a miss hit. No club can correct that, and actually the outcomes are mostly similar. I don't know how the designer did it, but the trajectories are amazing. Best feeling and performing iron ever. No point in looking any further. These irons are in my bag until the are unplayable.
