    What You Need To Know

      Technology Specs

      Apex Irons Technology Item
      • Extremely Soft Feel

We’ve created a new standard for incredibly soft feel from a forged 1025 mild carbon steel body, and for the first time ever we’ve engineered our proprietary urethane microspheres into a forged iron. The carbon steel body promotes amazing Apex sound and feel, and the urethane microspheres consist of over one million tiny air pockets that absorb unwanted vibration without slowing the face.

      • Long, Consistent Distance With Playability

Our renowned 360 Face Cup employs a shallow, flexible rim around the perimeter of the face that flexes and releases at impact to promote fast ball speed for consistent distance on center hits and off-center hits. In the short irons, the spin control VFT Face is designed for aggressive shot-making in your scoring clubs. This is a distance breakthrough for a forged iron.

      • Optimum Ball Flight and Control

The tungsten-infused, multi-material construction allows us to locate the position of the CG in each iron with extraordinary precision while maintaining the flexibility of the Face Cup. This promotes optimum launch, ball flight, and pinpoint control for scoring performance through the set.

      • Premium Craftsmanship and Components

Apex is expertly crafted with a beautiful players shape, a platinum chrome finish and premium components, including a new True Temper Elevate 95 Shaft and Golf Pride Tour Velvet 360 Grips.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor feeling iron and horrendous customer service. I have been playing forged blades for several years but thought I would like some extra distance. I purchased a set of apex, apex pro combo irons. While these clubs are long, they are also clanky feeling. Bought from my local pro and was told by the Callaway representative that in order to get the 30 day warranty you had to buy directly from the website but there is no mention of this on the website. A complete ripoff!! Now I am stuck with these clubs I can’t stand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome irons! I’m a 10-11 handicap and just upgraded to the Apex 19 and I couldn’t be happier with the clubs. My previous set was a set of Titleist 716 AP1s. So I went from more of a game improvement cast iron to more of a players distance forged iron. I know that’s a huge difference but you can really tell. - Feel- The feel is fantastic with the Apex. You get great feedback and can really feel when you hit one pure in the center of the face. When you miss hit, you can feel it- great responsiveness/ feedback- but the distance is still there. - Distance- I’m impressed with the distance from the Apex. I got fit for them and tried the Mizuno JPX, the Ping i500s and the TM P790’s. Didn’t care for the feel of the P790s. I really liked the Mizunos and the Pings but just liked the feel of the Apex more. Distance wise, the Callaway was as long as the Ping and longer than the Mizunos. Compared to my old AP1’s the distance is about 3/4 to a full club longer. - Shafts/ Fit- the Apex are awesome but You need to be fit and specifically fit for the right shaft. I’m a recent convert to getting fit. Have never been fit before and what I learned is huge. I’m actually a flat lie and having clubs that fit have been an obvious huge help. But a place I didn’t expect was in the fitting of the shaft. I tend to be closed face and an inside out swing. Good for a draw, but takes spin off the ball. On a 7 iron, my spin rate is about 1500-2000 lower than ideal. Hard to land greens without the right spin so the fitter recommended a higher launching shaft to try and promote more spin. Turns out the stock True Temper Elevate shaft works as well for me as the KBS the fitter originally recommended. I mention all this because if your someone who tends to have more spin, open face or outside in swing, the stock Elevate shaft might not be a good option. The Apex are awesome, but fot wrong and you might not like them. - Club head- the size of the club from heel to toe is definitely shorter than my old AP1’s and shorter than the Mizunos and Pings. Don’t recall how they sized up against the P790s. As a 10-11 handicap, I’m inconsistent with my ball striking and have always preferred more forgiving clubs. In my fitting I hoseled a couple of shots so I was worried about that, but I’ve played two rounds so far with these and no issues yet. Fitter and my instructor have both told me it’s time to get those “shovels” out of my hands. I think my consistency is actually a lot better with the Apex. Some reviews have criticized the sound the Apex make. I guess that’s personal preference, but I can’t imagine a club sounding or feeling better than these Apex. Really awesome. - Value- This is where the Callaway Apex and the Callaway Preowned store really shine. I used to work in the outdoor/ ski industry and paying full price for sports equipment is against my principles! So the idea of dropping $1600 for new irons was tough for me to justify. Never bought anything from the preowned store but after getting fit, I started checking stuff out on the Preowned store. I found a set with the right shaft and set configuration in Like New condition. Had them customized with new grips and lie angle adjusted. When they arrived, they looked brand new. And price wise, it was 1/2 the price of retail. If you know what you’re looking for and find it, the Callaway Preowned store may be the best deal in golf! Good luck and stay safe out there everyone!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great feel, great accuracy. Everything promised. I previously played Apex CF 16's and was always happy with them. The Apex 19's play even better. Though slightly smaller, which I like, they are just as forgiving and gave me more distance. These are great irons for almost any level of skill.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these I recently realized that my game was in need of a boost. I have been playing 2016 Steelheads and have created a nice wear pattern in the sweet spot. I was looking for a club with better feel than what game improvement clubs offer. I was happy to see the Apex 19's had made their way to the certified pre-owned market. I hit these at a sales event out my club along with offerings from Titleist and Taylormade. I loved the feel of these and almost purchased them at the tent. I found the length of the face to be small at first but was able to adjust quickly. I struggled a little during my first few rounds with alignment but quickly figured that out and am now able to work the ball well. While the pitch approximates the same as my Steelheads I feel as though I have lost about a half a club length. I am not sure if it is the result of colder weather or the club.
