The greatest irons around if you are an above average ball striker. The 3 and 4 iron look pretty thin, try 5-PW with 3,4 in X Forged. Anyone above a 5 handicap should try the Diablo Forged, they give a soft feel, very forgiving, and go a mile.

Only bought six iron as a test. These irons are supposedly for low single-digit handicappers, and I am a 12. So, was attracted by their great looks but unsure about my ability to hit them. So far, both on the range and during rounds, the iron has performed really well. Having no difficulty hitting them. Still considering whether to go to a full set.

I have the 2007 X Forged and bought this 9 iron to test drive before I buy the rest. This is the most incredible iron I have ever hit. It has a fair amount of forgiveness, and is a dart thrower. I hit this about 5-7 yards longer than my X Forged 9. The PX 6.0 shaft is good in it, but I'll be ordering the set in KBS. Good job Cally, another great iron!!!

Rewarded for good (but doesn't have to be perfect) ball striking. Mis-hits don't travel very far, which has the benefit of not getting into as much trouble when I mis-hit these irons vs. cavity backs going further into trouble. Still getting used to hitting these out of the rough. The grass seems to really slow the clubhead down and close the face. I don't think it is the club designers fault, but more my swing path being too shallow. The soft metal of the clubhead leads to great feel, but knicks very easily.

I started with oversize, worked my way to tour, then forged. I have had these for obout 2 years and they are the best thing ever happend to me. The feel is just amazing I have always hit long but these are just the best feeling clubs I have ever hit, they feel like nothing else. My club pro tryed then once I got them and told me "I see why you bought them". This gives Callaway the best Irons ever built.

I am currently playing X-20 irons and ordered a prototype iron just to see if I liked it. I have ordered others now and I could not be more pleased. Patiently awaiting the arrival of the other prototypes I ordered.......

I tried these clubs on a Demo day and they are without doubt the best clubs I have tried in many a year,( and I am 62). I could draw, fade, hit high or low with ease. A great club and will be in my bag as soon as I have saved up enough money.

I picked these clubs for the blade shape and because I did not like the inconsistent feel cavity backs.
Compared to my former clubs, Ben Hogan ca.1978 the x prototypes are heavier in the head and the ball flies at a lower trajectory. It would be useful for Callaway to publish swing weights since it is hard to find actual clubs to try before purchase.
The wedge has a low flight and is hot off the face. I just have to practice and get used to striking the ball with my hands further forward.
I am very pleased with the feel and consistency.

I truly like almost everything about the X-Prototype clubs. There are only two things I do not like is that I couldn't get it in a senior flex shaft, but now that i have hit the clubs on the range---wow--if I had it in a senior flex I may get a good 15 yds. out of each club. I am hitting the ball 5 to 10 yds. of center line with these clubs. NO MORE BANANA SLICE. NO DEEP SEA FISH HOOKS.
THE SECOND THING IS THAT THE USGA NEEDS TO LEGALIZE THESE THING SO THAT US CASUAL RECREATIONAL GOLFERS CAN ENJOY THE AND PLAY LIKE THE PROS WITHOUT HAVING TO PAY SIX MONTHS OF SOCIAL SECURITY/ RETIREMENT TO GET A C-O-N-F-O-R-M-I-N-G SET OF CLUBS. I KNOW WE HAVE UNTIL 2024, if I live that long but I have to sons that will be here and playing then. Callaway is my golf clug of choice and both of my sons like Callaway as well. Keep up the good work, if you come out with a X-Prototype Conforming club I would love to field test it.
