Comments about Callaway Golf Steelhead III Fairway Woods:

A while back, I lucked into someone letting me use their SHIII for a round and loved it. Went out and bought the 3W immediately and it has been my go-to club for the past 2 years. Can't say enough about it. Easy, forgiving, long, crisp off the fairway. Swung fast and hard or nice and easy, it always performs. I'll even play it off the tee if I need to be accurate and need to confidence...hits almost as far as my driver anyway.
A year ago I got the driver to match which I'm a little less consistent with and just bought the 7W to use in place of my long irons. Hope it plays like the 3W I love so much.

Comments about Callaway Golf Steelhead III Fairway Woods:

I was the proud owner of original steelheads and used them for about 10 years. I wasn't a fan of hybrids and picked up a steelhead iii 7 wood after reading the reviews. I absolutely love the club. As chance would have it, a coworker had the 3 and 5 wood collecting dust in his basement and hooked me up. First swing with the 7, I put it to 12 feet on a 195 yard par 3. Granted, there was probably a lot of luck in that, but these clubs inspire confidence. They look, feel, sound, and function great!!!

I've had a 3W and 5W Steelhead III. I love the 5W for 210-225 shots! I can reach par 5's in 2 with the club. It's the 190-210 distance I was inconsistent. I tried a 3H by Callaway but I was too inconsistent. I tried the 7W Steelhead III. And now I'm hitting the greens!

For me, they have the perfect feel about them. Unlike the big bulky drivers, these have a beautiful weight in them. You can feel it in your hands as you take a back swing then come down through the ball. Brilliant!

A uniflex shaft has is in between a regular and stiff flex and is the most common shaft in golf. It adjusts to your swing speed so if you swing fast it will play as a stiff, and if you swing slower it plays like a regular flex.

Very good condition clubs will have around 20 rounds of golf on the club. There will be some scratches on the face, but will not have any dents or sky marks on the top of the club. None of the pre-owned clubs we sell will have dents on them.

I have the opportunity to buy a Tour version of the Steelhead III 4+ wood. I beleive the retail version of the 4+ wood has a square face, is slightly heavier and slightly smaller than the non+ 4 wood.
My question is ,where does the "tour" version fit in? No serial numbers? Open face? Heavier still?

Where does it say tour version?? It doesnt. THe +4 has less loft than a standard 4 wood. ( that makes it tour version.) That old a club didnt come with 1 degree open face. If a Callaway is a Tour model it comes in 1/2 degrees and has 1 degree open face.

On the steelhead III clubs I've seen 3 different types of shafts in "regular" flex. They are: System III, RCH-96 and Callaway steelhead. These names are what are shown on the shaft.
Can anyone tell me what is the difference between them? Are some newer than others?
A friend of mine has a "System III shaft in his club which I hit well.

There is a difference in name only. If you are looking at regular flex in the Callaway stock models they are almost identical. They try to do that on purpose. You will be fine in any regular flex.
