    Features & Benefits

More Speed and Distance from Next-Generation 360 Face Cup Technology

Next-generation 360 Face Cup™ technology increases ball speed with greater efficiency on both center hits and mis-hits for more distance on every swing.

Higher Launch and Better Feel from Steel-Infused Polyurethane Layer

A bar of steel-infused soft urethane layer positioned behind the lower portion of the face serves two functions. 1) Absorbs unwanted vibration for great feel. 2) The integration of steel into the urethane adds weight, which lowers the head’s Center of Gravity for faster ball speed on low hits and higher launch characteristics.

More Forgiveness from Hollow Bore-Thru Hosel Design

Hollow Bore-Thru hosel design saves significant weight that’s repositioned in strategic places in the head to create more forgiveness and easier launch.

More Control and Distance from Progressive Center of Gravity Positioning

The CG is positioned strategically in each iron to promote easy launch and long carry in the long-irons, easy launch and keen control in the middle-irons, and lower and high-spinning shots in the short-irons.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Problems with the clubs I bought these last season at the end of the year. Haven't used them until the beginning of this season because in NJ once the season ends theres no chance on getting out so I packed the new clubs up with the plastic still on them. This year I got a late start on the season because of some issues with my new job. However, I started to use them and instantly noticed some issues with my ball flight I had never seen. I brought them to the golf pro that I take my lessons from and he was curious what was going on also. After about 2 months of this new "fade" I had never hit before in my life my golf pro realized the lie and angle of the clubs was off. I ordered standard clubs and guess I didn't receive standard clubs. I have been trying to Contact Callaway to see if they could swap them out for me with a set of actually standard clubs but I haven't heard back yet. They are beautiful looking clubs but I can't quite seem to get in touch with the customer support. Hopefully they help me out if not I would not reccomend them

Rated 5 out of 5 by from By accident...I found Steelhead XR Irons...WOW! A little background...I'm a 60+ male who could never feel comfortable with any hybrid in my hands (too "Old School" I guess)...Tried 3 or 4 different brands/models...Just wasn't happening...Had a great set of irons that I was totally happy with (Big Berthas)...So on I whim, I purchased a Steelhead XR 3 iron (with the help of my "Main Cat" in Austin,TX - Brian MacDuffie @ Callaway) to fill that void in yardage from 4 iron to fairway wood(metal?) that I had...Crushed it first time out (my golf buddies were shocked to say the least)...The distance and pure straightness to the greens floored me (and them!)...So, rolling the dice, I called "Main Cat" @ Callaway again, he took care of me, and I'm the PROUD OWNER of a complete set of Steelhead XR irons...Took them out two days ago and all I can is "WOW!"...Like I said, I was TOTALLY happy with my Big Berthas until I bought that 3 iron...Maybe it just fits my game and not yours, BUT you really need to pick one up and try it somewhere, just to see...I really can't explain in words how I feel so satisfied in my golf equipment now...THANKS BRIAN & CALLAWAY!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm hitting them longer and much straighter. These clubs feel awesome. My mishits don't go as far offline, and somehow seem to maintain awesome distance. I've lowered my handicap by 4 strokes right out of the box.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm in love For the first time, I was custom fitted for clubs. I went with Callaway Steelhead XR irons. What a difference, it's like being able to see for the first time, or unlocking an ability in your mind. These clubs provide instant gratification! When I hit the ball squarely, a loud, solid crack rings out pleasing my senses of sound and sight. Even ragged old range ball fly off of these clubs. When I miss hit the ball for for the first time, I was preparing myself to be disappointed with my shot. I looked up and was confused, my ball was in high the air soaring straight down the fairway. These irons have a remarkable amount of forgiveness. Way more forgiveness than my wife when I bought a new set of golf clubs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from feel and accuracy are the best I've experienced As a result of an injury together with anew medical condition affecting my swing, my Callaway representative recommended these irons. So IRONS which have worked extremely well for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Took Advice, tried them, liked them, bought them and love them I am probably a 16-17 hcp. golfer and up until I bought these clubs still used steel shaft irons. My last set of irons were Titleist 714 AP1s and while I hit them decently, after attending a Callaway Demo Day at my club, realized that as a senior golfer, I would definitely benefit from graphite shafts. In July, I purchased this set from the PGA Superstore in Paramus, NJ. They gave me a great trade-in for my Titleist AP1s, i.e. 150% of their value due to the Callaway 150% promo. My recent rounds with these new clubs have a) provided me at least 10 more yards per club. The clubs themselves are much lighter and as a result effortless to use. An added benefit of the lighter, more flexible shafts is that senior golfers gain more whip in the shaft to generate increased club-head speed at impact. That's had a positive effect on my game. Mis-hit shots are not as damaging to your round, either. I bought my set as a 5-PW with Sr. Flex, 55 gm. shafts. I then went online at Callaway and ordered the 3 & 4 iron to complete the set. That process was effortless and the online order arrived within the schedule promised by Callaway. All in all, I am enjoying these clubs, playing better golf and now can also play several days in a row, which my prior heavier steel shafts didn't always permit me to do. I recommend these clubs to ALL levels of golfers if you want to improve your game. They can be purchased in Stiff and Regular Steel, Stiff, Regular and Sr. Graphite. This is my first set of Callways and while I hope to not have to replace them anytime soon, will definitely give Callaway a look again when the day comes that I do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handicap dropped like a stone I waited a number of years to get new clubs. I played with the demo set of Callaway steelhead XR irons a number of times at my club and really liked them. I waited for demo day and I was fitted by Barry from Callaway. No computers or fancy video. Just seat-of-the-pants analysis by Barry. I bought the five iron through PW with 3 and 4 hybrids. I also bought an Epic driver, Epic 5 wood and Mack Daddy wedges; 52, 56 and 60. I have had the clubs for less than 1 month. My handicap index has dropped from 15 to 11.1. I have complete confidence with the irons. They hit 5 yards longer with near perfect directional accuracy. The wedges likewise hit straight. I am still fiddling with the distances a little bit. The driver takes a little more getting used to but it hits about 15 yards longer than my previous driver and is very forgiving. Misses are straight. I have two minor complaints. First, the clubs took a while for delivery after ordering. It seemed like too long a wait but it was only about three weeks. The other minor issue is I didn't like the club covers. Instead, I purchased some generic covers online that work very well. These clubs are nearly custom. Barry was able to give me the correct lie, choice of grind, shafts and grips. The correct shafts make a huge difference. I am winning a lot in the bi-weekly men's league. Only 95 more wins and I will have paid for the cost of the clubs.
