    Features & Benefits

    Distance With Playability

This is our first face cup in a forged players iron. We’ve taken our industry-leading 360 Face Cup technology that’s redefined ball speed in fairway woods and irons, and precision engineered the face cup to give you consistent ball speed across the face in a forged Apex design.

    Scoring Performance Through The Set

The progressive offset, sole widths, CG height and notch weighting provide the right balance of ball flight, playability, forgiveness and control for each iron. The longer irons feature more offset where you need it for more forgiveness, while the shorter irons have a more compact shape with less offset for feel and control.

    Multi-Piece Construction

This high tech construction goes through the whole set to create a remarkable combination of distance, feel and control for any player. The longer irons (3-7) utilize the 360 Face Cup to increase ball speeds and forgiveness across the face. In the shorter irons (8-AW), we’ve included a unique engineered face plate to enhance feel and distance control.

Extremely Soft Feel From Advanced Forging

We applied an extremely precise quadruple net forging, precision milling, and 1025 mild carbon steel to produce a new standard for incredibly soft feel in a forged iron.

    Premium Shaft Offerings

True Temper XP 95 stock steel offering with a wide selection of steel shaft options at no upcharge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Clubs I have Tested This Year I am fortunate enough to live near a GC that allows you to test products on their course. I got fitted for a few sets of irons and played 2 rounds with each set. My fitter fitted me for 4 sets of irons and it was basically up to me to test on course and come up with a decision. I was fitted for the Ping i200s, Mizuno JPX900 Forged, Srixon z765, and the Callaway Apex CF16 irons. After playing 2 rounds with each set the past few weeks I have concluded that the best iron for me was the Callaway Apex CF16. In my experience they are the most versatile, most consistent, the longest, and the best looking (purely my opinion). When test the other clubs that main difference between them and the Apex CF16s was the forgiveness. I am a 12 handicap so I have my fair share of mishits per round and the CF16s were far more forgiving than the other options. When I test clubs I want to test how good they perform on my bad shots, because in my opinion most irons, when stuck well, will perform similarly. The CF16s were very generous on my mishits. At my GC the par 3s are fairly long (which I am not a fan of) and when using the long irons (3,4,5) I noticed a considerable amount of forgiveness for the CF16s compared to the other models I tested. My mishits with the CF16s were still catching pieces of the green or keeping my within 5 yards of the fringe. With the other clubs when I mishit the long irons I was losing 10-20 yards of distance whereas the CF16s were dropping off 5 yards at the most. I was worried about the low spin on the CF16s and that some lies would cause me to hit the ball longer than anticipated with the low spin and low lofts but I did not encounter that much when playing. Overall, these irons can be bagged by a variety of golfers from 20 handicap to scratch. These are the best irons I have played and I would highly recommend testing them out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Condition of a Single CF 16 Iron I have been very happy with the performance of my set of CF 16 irons I purchased new. Previously played with the 2014 Apex irons. I decided to add an additional Apex CF 16 club to my bag using Callaway Preowned. Having purchased many clubs from Callaway Preowned I expected the recent "Like New" club I purchased to be the same. Clearly it wasn't based on the numerous dings and face wear. I estimate at least two levels lower in quality. This by no means impacts the performance of the club but you are paying more for "Like New" than good. This club basically cost me more than it should and if I want to return it I will also be out the cost of shipping. It forces me to pay more for a club with more wear and no alternative but lose money for a return. Think twice before you believe their quality determinations. It may not be worth paying more for a club rated "Like New".

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I'm not good enough for these clubs! 17 handicap, I have trouble hitting these clubs. When I do manage to hit them sweet, it is great. Just doesn't happen enough. It's me, not the clubs! A better player would love theses clubs!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great feeling club with awesome proformance!! I am a 15 handicap player and have been using TM RAC OS irons. They had great distance with just enough help for a weekend hacker. I bought a single 7 iron Apex to see if I could play a smaller head forged iron. What an iron, feels awesome no matter where I hit it on the club face. But wow it's amazing when you do hit it in the right place. Not as long as my RACs, but you are only talking about 5 yards. I think I can live with that considering the feel. Plus the Apex was much more accurate than my RACs. Great Club Callaway!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from overall very positive I have seen an increase of 10-15 yards over my old forged mizuno irons. Someone also said they don't seem to get as much spin on greens and I am also seeing the same thing. They also seem a little harder to work than my old clubs but this could be just getting use to these cf 16's. Overall very positive. I broke 70 for my first time two weeks ago with the irons.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Re-energized my game I'd been playing PING irons (both S59 and i25 models) for the past 12 years and had somewhat resigned myself to the fact that I couldn't hit the ball any further. I'm a decent player (low-mid single digit handicap) and could control the clubs quite well, but just didn't hit them as far as I thought I should be able to (what with all the "technology" gains these days). I then stumbled on the Apex irons while talking with a club fitter. He worked with me for about two hours while we tested my clubs and then the Apex irons with different shafts. Wow! I wound up getting them with the KBS C-taper lite shafts and it has completely re-energized my game. I'm at least 1 club longer throughout the bag now and my confidence level is riding high now that my 6700 yard home course feels more like a 6300 yard course. The soft feel of these clubs and the turf interaction is unlike anything I've played before - they just eat through the turf with ease so I haven't lost any control - and the ball just flies off the face.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helpful Upgrade As a senior, I was losing distance and my trajectory was getting lower and lower as a result. I demoed irons from several companies to try to improve those aspects. I bought a CF16 7 iron from Pre-owned and others from other manufacturers to try out in real world situations and the Callaway was noticeably an improvement in both distance and trajectory. I then went back to Callaway and got a 6-W set. My results with those have been consistent with my trial with the 7 iron. Better distance, almost a club difference, and better trajectory, higher normally, but able to knock it down when needed. Very pleased with the clubs and service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Back in Apex Heaven Played original Hogan Apex irons for many years until they went out of business. I spent a long time trying to find clubs that perform in the same manner. been through quite a few sets looking for what I remembered with the old Apex irons. My search is finally over. the new Apex CF 16 Irons remind me of my old Apex irons in feel, direction , and distance. Home Run by Callaway.
