Perfect...sleeper set of the year
I've always loved the look of blades but know that my game needs something with a bigger sweet spot. After testing irons, it came down to these and the PXG Tour irons. The Apex/Pro combo set won. The combo set was exactly what I wanted. All satin finish, larger and more forgiving head in the long irons, a little weaker lofted in the long (Apex) irons, a little stronger lofted in the short (Pro) irons, over half the price of the PXG tour irons. I was scratch a few years ago; recently climbed up to a 6 hdcp following back surgery and haven't broken 80 in over 3 months. I've played 5 rounds since getting these. Two of those rounds were +1 and one was even. 2 of those rounds had either a front or back nine of -2. I could not be happier.
Two things to note...1) have yours lofts checked. Luckily I have a Mitchel loft/lie machine and found a few of clubs were off by 1.5* or more. 2) Callaway measures their club lengths with the grip on...many companies do it without the grip so if you move to these from another brand, your irons may seem about 1/4" shorter than what you're used to.

The best iron set up period.
In the last 2 years, I have devoted a lot of time really learning the game of golf. As a profession, I am a Strength and Conditioning Coach, so my fascination with human movement and the precision you must have in golf go hand and hand. Also, I am an equipment junkie and really did a lot of research on how proper fitting, equipment, and swing style really come together and play a huge part in your performance on the course before purchasing these clubs. After multiple fittings, demo days, and trips to golf shops hitting in simulators I went with this set with Dynamic Gold x100's soft stepped once.
When the Apex CF16's first came out I was hesitant as I wasn't looking for a game improvement club set, but know that especially with my long irons, I am not good enough for the pro set alone. I wanted to be able to use my short irons around the green to chip and run shots, control flight shape, and add spin, but didn't want the wider sole of a game improvement and the often shot that goes to far. I also didn't want to lose to much distance and accuracy because of a bad strike with my long irons if I bought the pro version alone. This set was the answer and I couldn't be happier. I find control and spin with the short irons to be easy to dial in and playing a fade or a draw is easy. The long irons pack a punch and my mishits don't punish me as bad. I can hit the ball long if I want to. I've carried my 7 iron 185, but I wanted to really learn to control the ball and be able to score and this set lets me do it. The set I came from fell in the game improving category and I found my scores going up because my skill and swing speed were dramatically increasing. This was causing an unpredictable amount of spin resulting in either ballooning and losing up to 25yds of distance or a shot that would fly the green. My first round I shot 7 strokes under my average playing a course I have only played once (a year ago) that is also much more difficult than my normal courses I play.
Also, I changed balls to the new Chromesoft ball, and between my short irons and putting, I now understand when golfers use the expression "feel." I had always played Prov1x in the past, but what sold me on them was the roll off of the putter and the feedback off my irons. Great products and gear!

Exactly what I needed
I've went back and forth between game improvement and players irons for the last few years trying to find the "right" set. I feel like Callaway has finally given me what I want. Short irons that are very workable but with stronger lofts to match up to the GI irons and long irons that are easy to hit but still feel great and have some workability. This is an awesome set that I really hope to stick with for the next few years. If I had any complaints about them, it would be that I would of liked the 7 iron to be Apex Pro as well, but I'm still very, very happy with this set.

CALLAWAY REALLY GOT IT RIGHT!
Callaway REALLY got it right! This is the perfect set of clubs for a serious player that wants workability, forgiveness and distance in the longer irons— all in an absolutely beautiful forged club. I just ordered mine last week after 6 months of intensive research and testing. The shaft options are very good as well.

Apex combo irons
Great clubs, look and feel excellent. Same yardage as my Pings with better feel. Short irons are extremely accurate.

Very good irons. Upgraded from my xhot pro irons I used the last 4-5 years. Feel and distance control is much better and still the same distance on full swings. Expensive clubs but worth it and you get what you pay for.

Great Feel, Very Forgiving
I really like these clubs. I had a set of Mizunos and I love those clubs, but technology keeps moving ahead. I like that these are a combo set; makes hitting that 4 iron a little easier. I put some KBS shafts in them and I love the ball flight I have. The fit, finish, and feel of these clubs is every bit as good as the Mizunos and they're easier to hit.
