Big Bertha V Series Fairway Woods
Launches easily off the deck and tee ... long and straight. Wow!
Haven't carried a 3 wood in 7 years and then Callaway markets a liteweight, aerodynamic club with a lite shaft. My driver SS is 88-95, depending on the moment, and I need distance anywhere I can get it. I'm game to try this new 3 wood even if it is 43.25 inches in length. At least, I could use it as a drive on tight driving holes.
Take it to the range and over a few rounds, and it's a "Wow!"
Don't need to tee it high as it launches well. The shaft seems to play true to flex (but not for heavy hitters and quick tempos - they can option to order a heavier shaft with no up charge).
Off the deck, I now have a new club to bag. The light weight of the club seems to glide the club through impact - none of that heavy stuff as you approach the ball. Flight off the deck is mid for me - the more I play it, the more comfortable I get, and launch off the deck gets higher -- low trajectory means 210 and straight. Higher trajectory during my 2 rounds were 220, and gamegolf recorded one off the deck at 238. That's oh my gosh stuff for me.
Even poor shots want to go straight.
My typical mistake under pressure is not enough lower body, too much arms, so the miss is lower and slightly left ... at least it's only slightly. When I keep the loft and use the lower body, it's wondrous. I've even experimented with a slightly open face at address with a swing path that is slightly from the inside to promote a higher flight and slight draw - bingo.
Excellent results for a lower lofted wood. Try it. Very impressed with this club.
Appearance is classic - black, single chevron for alignment, not too long from heel to toe, rounded at the back for more forgiveness and the face is hot all over. Sole will bring back memories of the Warbird. But this technology, cup faced, hyper speed face, aerodynamics, modified sole --- all cutting edge.
Sound/feel is slightly metallic and pleasing.
If you're a golfer with a decent swing, not too quick or muscling, with a smooth transition -- give this 15.5 three wood a shot. But it's contagious. You'll want the 5 wood ... then the ... well, I bought the Heavenwood before the 5 wood to see what it will do...

Best Callaway fairway wood yet.
This club is great for a player with a moderate swing speed. The lightness of the club is similar to the optiforce series. The forgiveness and distance gained is much better. I would recommend this club over the big bertha series because of that.

I love the heavenood. Easy to launch and very good distance. I would call it a high 5 wood. If you carry sometype of Mini driver or Deep fairway wood to use off the tee this is great for the bag. Can be almost your only real fairway wood.. If you like a seven wood choke down 1.5inches. Versitile wood.

This product is not for everybody.
I had to go back to my X2 Hot , 3 wood, because I got better distance with it.

Heavenwood = Heaven
The Heavenwood with an Aldila tour green shaft (r flex) is a fantastic fairway wood. I tend to hit the ball low with most of my clubs but I can get the Heavenwood UP in the air and carry it 170. I also know that the Aldila tour green shaft is very good for me, better than the stock shaft.
I'm in my mid 60's with a fairly slow swing speed. Love this club so much I'm going to get the V series 3 wood with same shaft!

Long and very easy to draw
I am a 12 handicapper who played my SLDR all summer. After comparing the new Big Bertha V driver on a launch monitor I was surprised that the V was longer by 10-15 yards. The big improvement for me was the ability to hit a high draw on a consistent basis. Needless to say, the SLDR is now out of my bad and the V is in. In my opinion, this is the best driver Callaway has produced for players of my caliber and possible for players of all levels.
