Big Bertha Alpha 815 Double Black Diamond Drivers
Don't be fooled about how this product is advertised
I know Callaway says that the Double Black Diamond is an expert's only driver but don't let that deter you from at least giving this driver a few wacks. I'm a previous BB Alpha owner and that driver has done wonders for me. I'm not an overly long hitter but with the BB Alpha, it changed that. My club head speed tops out at 98mph, balls speeds were around 140-145mph, spin rates was around-2600-2900rpm and a total distance of 250-260yds and I had it set to +2 on the loft with the gravity core down. What really helped me out is that I do catch the center of the club face about 90% of the time but on those few occasions where I do miss, the BB Alpha definitely lets you know. That's when I found out that the BB Alpha is not a very forgiving driver.
So I decided that I wanted to upgrade to just the standard 815 thinking at the time that the Double Black Diamond wasn't for me since I don't have fast enough ball speed and club head speed. The 815 was an impressive driver and even though it was way more forgiving than my BB Alpha, I didn't see much improvement numbers wise and I had a hard time with control and wasn't to impressed with the stock speeder shaft. Probably because the speeder shaft weighed 57 grams in a stiff and was a bit too light for me. The Golf Galaxy guy that was helping me put in the rogue shaft and the feel of that shaft was a lot better but still wasn't satisfied with the numbers.
So the guy brings in the DBD in a 10.5 loft with the rogue shaft. First hit with it and I was sold. The numbers were crazy ridiculous. Wow was I impressed. I had the DBD set to 11.5 loft with the gravity core down and I was producing ball speeds from 150-160mph, spin rates where from 2100-2500rpm and my total distance was from 263-277 yards and my club head speed was still the same at around 98mph.
If you're like me and is a very good driver of the ball that catches the center of the club face 90% of the time. This driver is for you. The DBD is not as forgiving as the standard 815 but the DBD is a lot more forgiving than the BB Alpha. Like I said, I don't have overwhelming ball speed or club head speed like a pro but the numbers don't lie. Find the right shaft with your proper flex and DBD is gold. Took it out to the driving range the other day and couldn't be more happier.

This product has the adjustability that it says it does.
Sadly, after spending $500 for this driver, the shaft was not what it said it was. I hit numerous balls on the range and played one round with it. I could not stop the ball from going severely left (big hooks). I took the club to a local club maker to check the frequency of the shaft. I purchased an X flex Aldila Rogue and it checked out as a weak stiff. The shaft played way too soft for me. I feel that paying that much for a driver with a name brand shaft, the flex should have matched the label.

You'll become an expert sniper with this driver! Super accurate!
Hi. My name is John. And I am a Callaway junkie.
I bought both the 815 and the DBD(double black diamond). Both are phenomenal drivers! But my heart and head are in love with the DBD!
The 815 is super forgiving and crazy long. But the DBD is like putting a sniper scope on a driver, picking a target and then just pulling the trigger! I know that Harry said this driver is only for the low handicappers, but I love it! When u hit it, it's like a piercing crack! And the looks are so sexy! When u pull this driver from the bag, it just looks like u mean business!
I'm currently using the mitsubishi rayon "j" shaft and it just feels like the perfect driver that I've been waiting for.....it's like I married a super model! Except this wife didn't ask me for a 10 carat diamond ring. She already had two black diamonds! Ha!
It's long off the tee and I had no problem shaping shots. You don't have to swing either of the new drivers like a madman to get distance. These drivers only know how to hit long bombs!
Do yourself a favor and demo this club, it's awesome!

So easy to hit
Had a fitting done at golfsmith against the major competitors and this club was consistently 20 yards longer. Feel and quality are top notch!

I've waited a while to write this. I've been gaming the DBD with the Rogue x-stiff shaft for about 40 rounds now. I demo'd it last October and purchased it in December. It's hands down the best driver I've ever played. Long, forgiving (yes I said it, don't be fooled by the name) and the best looking, feeling and sounding driver on the planet. Even after falling in love with it I tested it vs. everything out there. I like to be sure I have what I need to play my best and this is the total package. I even give it five stars for value, although it's not cheap. For someone who has bought countless drivers over the past few years, knowing it will be in the bag for a long time will save me future funds.
Dan Harris is the man! I made him work harder than he should on the shaft choice and he went above and beyond. Thanks Dan and Cally for this product. Worth every penny!

best driver yet
I have tired/used many drivers. From the first swing I knew this driver was going to be the one. Long, straight, the ball flight you want. Sounds solid off the face. Many guys I play with want to hit it, but I won't let them.

Best Driver out There
I was able to test The Aldila Rogue 60X in the 915, Bertha DBD 815, Cobra ZFly, Nike Vapor and the Ping G30. This Driver came out on top every time. Its consistent distance around 289carry and 2200 spin was the biggest selling point to me. Its looks are phenomenal and it really does live up to its low spinning hype. The gravity core helped me reduce spin about 240rpms lower than the other drivers and this driver itself is much lower spinning than my outgoing driver - (FT Optiforce 440 Diamana Blueboard [3480rpm spin]). All in all, I highly recommend this driver BECAUSE it is low spinning, they offer a great shaft for no upcharge (Aldila Rogue Silver) and you really cant get a driver better than this, honestly. Lastly, if in doubt, go get shaft fitted!!

King of the Fairway!
Callaway has out done themselves with this latest addition to the Driver family. This product is beast mode! It looks, sounds, and feels great. There is no doubt in my mind that ruling the fairway as king of my game is in the very near future. Thank you Callaway.
