Product Overview

In our never-ending mission to find more distance and accuracy for golfers, Callaway Golf’s engineers used an entirely new design to once again produce a driver that’s longer and straighter than anything we’ve ever made. The following technical features are incorporated into the Callaway FT-iZ driver to accomplish this goal and help golfers break through their speed barrier.

  • Polar Weighting utilizes a heavy face and a heavy in-line power source in the rear, localizing weight at the front and back of the driver.
  • The Chemically Milled Hyperbolic Face Cup uses a chemical reduction process to selectively remove unwanted material for precision thickness control.
  • The Aerodynamic Body Design uses a progressive shape to produce our most efficient high inertia clubhead ever.
  • Fusion® Technology exploits extreme weight placement by utilizing cast titanium, compression cured carbon fiber, formed aluminum and cast steel.
  • High performance Aldila VooDoo shafts are engineered as the ideal complement to the FT-iZ Drivers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Largest Sweet Spot I am a devoted Callaway customer. I have hit every Callaway Driver since the Big Bertha, this one is the most forgiving and hottest driver of them all. Large head provides for a very large sweet spot. Very hard not to hit it well. Absolutely love it. I own several TaylorMade Drivers to include the R9,and R11 and this one beats them all. Rated 4 out of 5 by the best 3 wood I ever hit's" Brother" i tried the driver on a launch monitor with my pro supervising. He tells me I am 20yds longer on most drives than the FT 5 fade bias in the stiff shaft. January 26, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very Forgiving Very forgiving. Easy it Hit. Feels really solid. The looks not that great but, it works. Wish you made a 10.5 Tour Model. Because I'm left handed. Would'nt mind have both lofts in the bag. January 4, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice driver for the price! I purchased this driver for my father's "back-up" set used by myself and other friends of the family who visit my parents and play golf. I didn't have any expectations for the driver other than my father's "back-up" set needed a modern driver. I found the driver to be very easy to hit and very long off the tee. I normally play a draw but I found it difficult to move the ball right to left. Instead I hit the ball basically straight off the tee. I would recommend this driver especially for the price. The funny thing is now that I'm home in Colorado my father, who lives in Texas, is now using the driver and his old driver is in the "back-up" set. September 7, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by FT-iZ Tour Driver I am 4 or 5 hcp and about an 8 hcp in tournaments scores. I am 5'-7" and 185 pounds. I hit my drives normally about 260 - 265 with the occasional blast. I could also duff one 220 but not very often. I am almost 55 years old and in good health. I bought this 9.5 degree driver from Callaway Pre-Owned. It had my Flex in my choice Diamana shaft. It is a sweet setup. It was listed Like New, heck it was new. I could not see that it had been hit. I got this driver for a hundred dollars less than the shaft alone costs. For starters I tipped and cut this driver down to 43" and weighted the head up with lead tape. If I had a desire for this driver it would be that it would have adjustable weights so that I could weigh up to a shorter length driver without the lead tape. My irons and woods are 1/2" short too so lead tape is not an issue. The FT-iZ Tour has a club face that is about 1 degree open at address. I really like that visually and performance wise. I hate a closed face driver because I am convinced I will hit a hook with it. This driver is the anti hook. The driver hits so straight, high and has low spin. The ball has terrific run out on landing. To be fair we are in a drought and the fairways are firmer than normal. It is forgiving and gives me a straighter longer distance than I deserve on less than swings. I can draw it or fade it but with an exaggerated effort. This driver just wants to go straight. That is what I read about it before I bought it and I found it is true. I would rather hit a consistent straight ball than try to hit a consistent draw or fade. This driver finds the fairway and has long carry but the run out can get me into trouble. Let us get back into normal rain patterns and healthier golf courses and I will find even more fairways. My friends can't believe how far I can hit a 43" driver. It is not so much that it hits that far it is just easier to consistently hit the sweet spot. I think the driver looks sleek. The triangular shape is a little goofy in my opinion but I got over it. Every 460cc head out there is a little goofy big for my taste. But that is just me. I have a second FT-iZ Tour driver in 10.5 degree loft. It has a similar shaft that has slightly more flex. It is the same overall length. It hits the ball higher and has more spin. It carries about 10 yards farther and has much less run out. August 27, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome club I bought this club to replace my FT-9 and I love it. I extended the shaft by 2 inches. This added a good 10-15 yards to my drive. August 27, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by BEST AND LONGEST!!!!!!!! This driver is long and easy to hit, this driver has made the game so much fun and has lowered my score more than anything that I have ever tried.the sweet spot is never ending, par 5's become par 4's July 2, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Takes off like a space ship. This is a solid Callaway product. The ball takes off like a rocket ship when hit pure and even on off center hits the ball seems to find the fairway. I am very pleased with this driver especially since it came with a Mitsubishi Diamana Blue shaft. My buddy is trying to get me to sell it to him. February 12, 2011
