Product Overview

The new Big Bertha Diablo Hybrids provide the power and attitude that give golfers the confidence to pull off any shot from anywhere on the course. Callaway Golf designers have incorporated the Dual Runner Sole that was originally introduced in the FT Hybrids. It helps golfers make solid contact from a variety of turf conditions and lowers the leading edge to make the sweet spot more accessible. The head design features a high MOI for more stability and forgiveness, so golfers get more distance and increased accuracy whether they’re crushing it off the tee or firing at the flag.

These are easier to hit due to the rails on the sole. The club slides through the rough making the club more versatile than the older hybrids I owned.

Still getting used to it. Missed shots were operator error in direction etc. ( pushes and not any wild hooks or slices !!!) Good shots were solid and dead straight. Haven't tried it in the rough yet but I bet it will work just fine.

Comments about Callaway Golf Big Bertha Diablo Hybrids:

With only 3 years' experience, I was looking to add clubs to my Big Bertha irons. I bought a 4H/24˚ first, and on the day it arrived I used it on the first tee, a dogleg to the right. Peeled off the plastic on the tee, and from the first swing, I was hooked!
The ball leaps off the club, has a great sound, and is much easier to hit than a 4 iron. I have since bought the 21˚ 3H, and plan to also buy the 5H/27˚.
These clubs complement my FTI driver, and I see no need for woods at this time.
I can hit over 200 yards with these hybrids, off the tee or the fairway. I get great height, and for some reason, my slice isn't a problem with them. They have uniflex shafts, My club head speed is 92 mph and I don't swing hard.

This club is longer than anything in my bag except the driver. Much easier to hit than a fairway wood. Consistently solid hits from the fairway or the rough. My best shots come when I slow down my swing. I love this club.

The 3 hybrid will replace a 3 iron, the 4 hybrid will replace a 4 iron.

I would say your purchase could depend on what the loft of your current 3 iron is and if you want the same loft with the hybrid. I personally like to space out my lofts a few degrees apart from each other, for instance I carry a 9.5(degree) Driver, a Neutral 15(degree) Diablo 3 wood, a 18(degree) 2H Diablo Hybrid, and a 21(degree) 7 wood.

I have started taking lessons six months ago. Im 57, I want to buy clubs but dont want to have to replace them next year. People have said wait cause your swing will change. I want to have my own. Im tending to slice but sometimes will get a draw and a 7 iron 150 when I get everything right. Im thinking x 22 irons , FT or Diablo woods, regular flex. what would you suggest? I need a whole set, thanks, Snow

                      A:

The X-22 irons are a great set of irons. The only concern I have is that they are designed for a lower handicap. You would still be able to learn with them and they would last you a long time so that the more you progress, you wouldn't have to change irons again. I would also suggest the Diablo fairway woods. They come in a draw bias which would help with your slice. The flex will depend on how fast your swing speed is.

I am 39, but in a similar position to you in terms of experience. Having had BB08 irons with regular flex, and BB07 woods also with regular flex, I went for a custom fit session. If you haven't done this you definetly should. I have upgraded to X22's with Uniflex shafts, Diablo 1, 3 and 5 woods with stiff shafts and a brand-new Diablo 3h Hybrid. Changed my game for the better. Good luck.

A senior flex shaft is designed for someone with a swing speed under 80 mph. A regular flex shaft is designed for someone with a swing speed from 80-90 mph.

You may want to go with the FT hybrids so that you can get it in a draw bias. That will correct your slice.
