    What You Need To Know

      Technology Specs

      X2 Hot Irons Technology Item
      • Deep Central Undercut

The new Deep Central Undercut increases the rate the face flexes and rebounds. So it increases ball speeds to make these irons even longer. And golfers seem to like that.

      • Stabilizing Arch

The exceptional sound and feel at high ball speeds come from a stabilizing arch that reinforces the face. You probably wouldn’t expect to get those things in a distance iron, but our R&D Team outdid themselves. Again.

      • Perimeter Weighting

If you like higher launch angles, more distance, stopping power on the greens and a bigger sweet spot, we developed the perimeter weighting with you in mind. What can we say; we like to give you what you want.

      • Lightweight Shaft Options

Lightweight Speed Step 85 – Steel shaft available in regular and stiff flexes

New lightweight Callaway Ultralite graphite shaft – More feel and control while increasing launch angles

      • 2014 Golf Digest Hot List Gold Medal

“This is more than a mere follow up to the X Hot. This is a fresh approach to iron design for Callaway where the game-improvement features are hidden in a more pleasing shape.” - Golf Digest

Rated 5 out of 5 by from X2Hot irons This is the second set of X2Hot irons I have owned. I let a friend talk me into switching to XR OS irons. I'm happy to be back to the X2Hots. Everything about these irons aids my iron game. The graphite shafts are excellent and I'm back to getting great distances.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice feel, extremely accurate, good value club. The X-2 Hot irons are a very solid club, even on mis-hits. They do play longer per club, but I think that's just because the lofts have been juiced. The only thing that I dislike about these irons are they are made of highly polished stainless steel which is hard keep from scratching. You have to use club covers to keep them looking their best. Wish Callaway used the same matte finish my old Ping Zing 2's have, and remove the medallions on the back and replace them with just the casting on the backs. I would rather have the irons uncovered, but they get too scratched up.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from XR irons better Initially liked the x2hot irons but then I tried the XR irons. Much prefer the XR irons and bought a set of XR combo hybrids/irons. I am much happier. All purchases made through Callaway preowned website which has great service, price, and quality!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Callaway X2 Hot steel shafted irons difficult to strike consistently A long-time buyer, player, and tester of Callaway clubs, I have worked with the legal department to help catch fraudsters, and with Mr. Cleveland in working with the axis of rotation on the S2H2 wedges. I think the size and appearance of the X2 Hot irons is more mid-sized than over-sized, and the thinner topline, sole, and smaller offset might appeal to the better golfer. But the clanky feel of the True Temper lightweight shafts just disrupt the timing and psyche of the player - anything less than a perfect strike vibrates the joints and produces unattractive ball flight. Because of my fast swing tempo, the clubs were fitted correctly for shaft flex, bendpoint, length, torque, and even the most advantageous grip. The things are just too difficult to hit purely! So I pulled the stock shafts and went with almost identical specs in another company's product, and the subsequent results were amazing! Even though the "experts" would say the clubs should perform identically, I can ascertain the difference in location of the clubhead throughout my swing with my eyes closed with the improved shafts. I have confidence as I address the ball, and a tremendously satisfying swoosh through the ball. I am gaming the complete set, including the high-bounce wedges (much appreciated, Roger!). I guess my set is now CallaStaff or Wilsonaway brand. Straight azimuth, moderate trajectory, good distance, adequate backspin. Great clubheads, great grips, but terrible marriage of the shafts with both.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Game Improver I found these irons lighter than my other Callaways but easier to swing. Found extra distance even with toed shots. Had to adjust in my stance to get to sweet spot but finding an improvement. Catch them on the sweet spot and they go. I like these clubs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really long and more forgiving I have only played a few rounds but would definitely agree that they have added between 10–15 yards and are generally forgiving. Only have two issues so far: (1) I have historically had a fade with my 6, 7, and 8 irons but now am pulling the ball more than usual. (2) The reviews said that the flight of the ball would be higher and I have not really experiencing that yet. In fact, the ball is coming out much lower than my previous irons (TM burner plus) which has made it more difficult to hold the greens. I blame much of these concerns to my game (handicap 18) and still getting use to the irons. Overall I’m very happy with the irons and would recommend them. The extra distance allows you to swing easier and use a higher lofted club to reduce the size of your errors. I would highly recommend getting out onto a course or driving range a few times to gauge your distances before playing a round that matters.
