X-Forged L Irons (2009)

    SKU: irons-x-forged-2009-l

    Features & Benefits

These player's irons are identical to the X-Forged Irons (2009) but have the letter "L" stamped on the hosel indicating that the irons are a D-1 swingweight (the standard irons are a D-2 swingweight).

After receiving feedback straight from Tour players, Callaway Golf designers decided to refine the X-Forged Irons. The end result is precision clubs that let elite players dissect the course. Forged from soft carbon steel, the clubhead has been redesigned with more bounce and camber and a tighter sole radius. The thin topline, narrow sole and short blade length allow for excellent workability. The Flighted CG Design produces strong trajectories and premium distance control while the new Progressive Dual Notch Weighting allows weight to be precisely positioned for optimized performance throughout the set.

    • Forged 1020 Carbon Steel Construction: Provides unmatched feel and performance, giving elite-level golfers incredibly soft, responsive feedback at impact.
    • Tour-Inspired Head Styling: Additional bounce improves turf interaction and more camber provides greater versatility. The sole radius was tightened to add to the versatility under various playing conditions. The thin topline, narrow sole and shorter blade length combine to generate maximum workability and the White Chrome finish mutes glare.
    • Flighted CG Design: Provides the optimal trajectories, ball flight, and distance control that Tour players demand with seamless performance progression through the entire set.
    • Progressive Dual Notch Weighting: Placing weight on the top and bottom of the cavity allows for the Flighted CG Design. By progressively adjusting the notch weighting through the set, it strategically adds more weight to shorter irons and removes weight from longer irons to produce strong, penetrating trajectories.
    X-Forged L Irons (2009) is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great set of clubs After getting this set of irons, I spent a few weeks learning to hit them with more precision than the cavity back irons and learning fron the feedback they provide when I mishit them. Over the course of 3 weeks, I used them to win two club tournaments. They have proven themselves to be long and accurate as well as controllable on the feel shots. I absolutely recommend them for anyone who may be hesitating because of the stories they have heard about the dreaded forged irons.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the feel of forge! Best set of irons I've owned. Callaway make great clubs. I've played my X-12's for 13 years and loved the forgiveness, but was looking for a more shot making clubs. Love the feel of these forge clubs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow! Best clubs I've ever owned. These are by far the best clubs I've ever owned. They're exactly what I've been looking for. Classic looks with a little tech on the side. They were in immaculate condition, and are in my opinion worth way more than what I paid for them. They even came with the original blue New Decade grips.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Clubs! Not only did I get an amazing deal, these clubs feel amazing! I am a mid handicap golfer who has played game improvement irons the last several years. These clubs are much less forgiving when you miss the sweet spot but still seem way easier to hit. If anything its helps by really giving you feedback in your swing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great clubs with project x shafts I believe these are non-conforming grooves, which I think is very unfortunate, for the clubs and those that have them, for they are great clubs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Irons These irons are the best irons I have ever owned. Although they are blades, I found that they were fairly easy to hit. It is very easy to work the ball, if you know how. Depending on what type of irons you may have had before, you might be digging for the first few rounds. Overall, these are the best irons for someone looking to work the ball.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BUTTERY These clubs are amazing...Not for poor ball strikers. I treated myself to a forged set and glad I stayed with callaway. Was playing with bertha 02'. The best thing about the clubs is the instant feedback at contact. You know without a doubt if you miss hit.
