    Features & Benefits

    Increased Distance from Jailbreak Technology

Innovative new technology changes how the head and face behave at impact to promote more speed across a larger area of the face for increased average distance.

More Forgiveness and Lower Spin from Exo-Cage Construction

Innovative head construction unites our titanium Exo-cage with an ultra-light triaxial carbon crown and sole, allowing improved perimeter weighting for more forgiveness and makes it possible to position the CG in line with the neutral axis, which lowers spin.

Spin Control and Trajectory Control from Interchangeable Weights

Two interchangeable weights in the head (2g and 12g) to adjust spin-rate and launch angle. Put the 12g up front to lower spin; in back for higher launch and higher MOI.

Fast Head Speed from Industry-leading Aerodynamics

Streamlined head incorporates our proprietary Speed Step, created with direct input from aerospace experts, to improve airflow for more swing speed and distance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprisingly good. I'm 70 years old and about 15 handicap. Still play white tees around 6000+ yards. Have been using Callaway XR (2015). GBB epic sub zero arrived yesterday afternoon and we had a tee time this morning at one of our regular courses. No time to go to the range so what the heck,,,,let's give it a try. Club was in the neutral setting with heavier weight in the back. It took the first nine holes to tweak my stance and grip but on the back nine...wow. Five of seven driver holes I was in territory I had never been in with the XR. I'm guessing 7-10% further. I'm still getting used to the stance and grip tweaks so I expect I'll be able to get even a little more. I used to have a beautiful little draw but the last few years that disappeared. With this club it came back. I think it's fine in the neutral loft and lie but I'll try switching the weights after a few rounds and see what happens. Very pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Impressive. A winner! Truly great golf club. It is all I had hoped for. Forgiving, long, and solid. I highly recommend. Also, dealing with Callaway pre-owned staff was a great experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Epic driver I’m striking the ball pure and long with neutral setting. Just wound it down to 8 degrees to see if I can get more roll... loll. Overall very happy... truly epic drives

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lower spin, greater accuracy I went from a Big Bertha Alpha 815 to the Epic SZ...The spin has reduced significantly and I’m finding the fairways easily!i played it three rounds so far and I’ve been very pleased with the results. The club inspires confidence and I mean able to work the ball in either direction direction easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the Driver Love the driver. The driver arrived in perfect condition. I have always used 8.5 - 9.5 degree lofts on my driver. I got the Epic Sub-Zero with 10.5 loft and the Rogue shaft. I am playing with it set at +1 draw. I actually got an Epic SZ with 9 degree loft and the Hzdurus shaft when they first came out. I am much happier with the Rogue shaft and higher loft. In my opinion the sub-zero produces a low ball flight and you may want to consider a higher loft than you normally use. Yes, I got fit for the first one, just glad I had options thanks to Callaway pre-owned.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from New driver--new feel Have only used for 1 month so have not played with weight adjustment as yet. It does have a different feel that my razor hawk. Which I could master it on the course the way I belt them on the range

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great performing driver, just make sure to get "fit" at the right location. I really like this club head! Hard to find a driver without it being draw biased but with the SZ I can work it either direction or just bomb it straight; as long as my good swing shows up that day anyway... The head is very forgiving on off center hits and I like the way the ball seems to stick to the face for a millisecond before launching down range. I got "fit" and purchased at the PGA Tour Superstore in Southlake, TX but did not get the chance to hit anything but the 4 stock shafts they carry. Even though they are listed as a Callaway Performance Center and Fitting Studio (and have many different shafts, from the no up-charge shafts up to the high-dollar Obans) seems you can't hit those unless you pay extra for a fitting, as I asked but was told they didn't have them "available". I ended up settling for the Rogue MAX 65 in stiff flex as it seemed the best option of the four but I've already had to purchase a Blueboard 63 X flex from CPO and am looking at other options from 'ahina to the Obans. Wish CPO took shafts as trade-ins! :-) Long story short: great driver but go somewhere you can hit many shafts if you want full enjoyment from the club. I know I'll be more patient next time I make a club purchase, especially when I decide to pull the trigger on the new Callaway MBs. Those things feel amazing! If they only came in raw finish here in the States...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Game Changer I was quite happy with my GREAT BIG BERTHA ‘16 and had no reason to change until I tried my friend’s EPIC SUB ZERO. Par 5’s turned into Par 4’s and Par 4’s turned into pitch or chip shots. Never had more confidence in a driver until I tried this. Had to reevaluate my equipment and make the change. Trust me, it’s worth it.
