    What You Need To Know

      Innovation

      Technology Specs

Epic Flash Sub Zero Drivers Technology Item
      • Faster Ball Speed With Flash Face Technology

Callaway engineers used Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to create a radically different face design to promote faster ball speed in the center region of the face.

      • Increased Ball Speed

Internal Jailbreak bars stiffen and stabilize the crown and sole, placing more impact load on the face to promote faster ball speed.

      • High MOI and Forgiveness

A new lighter triaxial carbon fabric called T2C has a tighter weave; the weight it saves is redistributed within the head to raise MOI for exceptional forgiveness on off-center hits.

      • Total Ball Flight
        Control

Repositioning the 12-gram sliding weight gives golfers the power to easily promote draws, fades or a straighter flight. The first time for APW in a Sub Zero driver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing upgrade Until receiving the Epic Flash SZ, my Rogue driver was the best driver I'd ever hit. I tend to be a high ball hitter which was costing me distance. My Rogue driver was better than the GBB I had, but getting the EFSZ has taken my driving to a whole 'nother level. I've seen an increase of about 20 yards (SS 95-98) on the typical drive and even more when I lengthen my backswing. It's hard to put it into words, but my friend did a good job. He hit one ball and it wasn't great contact. When the ball left the driver he said "it felt like he shot a BB off the tee." He is now trying to figure out when he can purchase one. The low spin of the driver, flash face, and the Hzrdous Yellow shaft (I'm have a smooth-tempo swing) all combine to launch the ball with incredible carry and roll. Off center hits still turn out pretty good. I can't imagine using anything else off the tee.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The driver has features that I still don’t understand completely I am a beginning golfer only been playing a couple of months but took the chance on buying a new driver and I am so glad I did my drives are so much straighter and longer, the club just feels awesome

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Truly amazing I had played the original GBB Epic driver for 2 years and loved it having come from the GBB 815, which when new was an improvement over its predecessor the Razr Fit Extreme (there’s a pattern developing) One of the guys in my league whom I was usually 20+ yards longer than was suddenly hitting drives comparable to mine. He had gotten fit for a new driver and now has an Epic Flash Sub Zero and is killing it. My usual progression of clubs is every other year so it figured it was time. I went to get fit and ultimately bought the Epic Flash Sub Zero as well, ironically in the same shaft I’ve been playing. The carry is improved greatly and the spin numbers have improved my rollout. There’s a creek that crosses a par 5 at a local course which requires a 265 carry to clear it. I’ve cleared it both times I’ve played there this year. For a 57 year old guy I’m darn pleased. Father Time will eventually win, but I’m holding my own with continual upgrades from Callaway

Rated 5 out of 5 by from VERY EASY to hit and keep in fairway The driver has always been the worst part of my game and keeps me from being a 4 - 5 handicap. I have played Callaway for years and was playing Epic with Mits white board stiff. My club had a demo day and working with our Pro on trackman he started building a club without really any input from me other than liking setup and feel. In the end I was fitted for Epic Sub Zero with Mits Tensei Blue reg flex. My club head speed moved from 93 to 96 and average carry was 245 yards with 265 overall. When I read how many people hit 300+ yard drives I laugh - most of you do not hit 300 yr drives....... Anyway this club has allowed to hit most fairways and I have gained 5 - 10 REPEATABLE yards. Setup is perfect and this head shaft combo has a nice high flight with a 5 yard draw.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wrong driver setup I originally ordered the driver with the Fujita shaft, called to find out why I hadn’t received it and was told shaft no longer available. No one bothered to call and let me know. I called and the customer service lady I talked to recommended the super light X shaft. Received the driver and hit about 20 balls with it and it is awful. Huge slice that is uncontrollable. Tried everything and it didn’t help. Have sent 2 emails to Callaway about the problem and have not heard back. Have been in Alaska for 3 weeks so haven’t even swung it again. Totally the wrong shaft for a guy who basically hits a very straight drive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gained 25 Yards I highly recommend this driver after being properly fit. The consistency and forgiveness of the Epic Flash SZ has lowered my handicap by 4 and increased my distance by 25 yards while allowing me to get only par 5's in 2.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big improvement Using the same shaft I had in my Rouge driver, I picked up 10 yards with the flash. Totally solid hits are 20 yards longer. Accuracy doesn’t suffer and mishits are playable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice club Makes a different sound at impact that takes a little getting used to, but after 10-12 shots I didn't even notice it...…….It is not a miracle club - it will hook it and it will slice it...…….On heel or toe shots, I think the distance is about the same as my 2017 Epic...….On shots hit out of the center of the clubface, "flush", I have gained about 7-8 yards with no wind, and I have gained about 15 yards into a fairly hard wind
