Product Overview

Irons designed to provide an elite level of performance for highly skilled golfers.
After receiving feedback straight from Tour players, Callaway Golf designers decided to refine the X-Forged Irons. The end result is precision clubs that let elite players dissect the course. Forged from soft carbon steel, the clubhead has been redesigned with more bounce and camber and a tighter sole radius. The thin topline, narrow sole and short blade length allow for excellent workability. The Flighted CG Design of these Callaway X-Forged Irons produces strong trajectories and premium distance control while the new Progressive Dual Notch Weighting allows weight to be precisely positioned for optimized performance throughout the set.

  • Forged 1020 Carbon Steel Construction: Provides unmatched feel and performance, giving elite-level golfers incredibly soft, responsive feedback at impact.
  • Tour-Inspired Head Styling: Additional bounce improves turf interaction and more camber provides greater versatility. The sole radius was tightened to add to the versatility under various playing conditions. The thin topline, narrow sole and shorter blade length combine to generate maximum workability and the White Chrome finish mutes glare.
  • Flighted CG Design: Provides the optimal trajectories, ball flight, and distance control that Tour players demand with seamless performance progression through the entire set.
  • Progressive Dual Notch Weighting: Placing weight on the top and bottom of the cavity allows for the Flighted CG Design. By progressively adjusting the notch weighting through the set, it strategically adds more weight to shorter irons and removes weight from longer irons to produce strong, penetrating trajectories.

The Best of the Best These irons are the best. I'm a 60 year old golfer, and I bought these clubs in 2010 on a whim. Always wanted to play forged again after decades of cast iron playing. Had been playing X-12's for a while, very good clubs also. No fitter or pro would have advised me to buy forged, especially with 6.0 stiff shafts. But I hit the forged as far as the x-12's. I also hit the ball straighter. And the feel is heavenly, a good shot feels like a good shot. In 2011, I had more sub 80 rounds than any year before. I can't speak for all old guys, but for me, forged was the way to go. If I could putt, I'd be a single digit man. The only con I can come up with is I'm using iron covers to prevent nicks as much as possible. After a year of use, the irons still look like new. February 15, 2012
Sweetest set of irons I've swung! I had to lay off the game for a year due to a broken leg. When I came back to golf, my forged blades were too difficult to get right back on the horse and hit. These forged irons, with a slight cavity back were exactly what I needed. I still have the work-ability and feel I desire when my game is on, and when I have the occasional mishit, I find my next shot being near the green, rather than 40 yards short, as I often found myself with a mishit true blade. I hit these a little higher than I'd prefer, but that's fixable with the right shaft. May 7, 2012
Fantastic players' irons! These clubs are the ultimate for the person looking for a players club but not a muscle back blade iron. Getting back into golf, I just can't hit the sweetspot on my older blades all the time any more... but I absolutely hate the big hammer style game improvement irons. I like small clubs I can work through the rough and other lies cleanly. I like to be able to work the ball a little. These things are awesome... they're a better players' club with patented Callaway forgiveness. The heads are small and they are NOT as forgiving as game improvement clubs but if you strike the ball reasonably well and like classic looking iron heads instead of gigantor, 160-yard with my eyes closed pitching wedge game improvement clubs that should come with their own built in range finders, then may you rest assured that you are buying the absolute finest irons crafted by human hands. I've always loved Dynamic Gold shafts but my set has the Flighted Rifle Project X shafts and they are dynamite! I love the flighted trajectory... these might be my new favorites. March 17, 2012
Love them was playing with Mizuno's MP32s. These are longer and more forgiving and still let me work the ball. March 15, 2012
Great Club Even For Us High Handicappers I love these clubs!! I know they are supposed to be for the better player (and being a 15 handicap is not quite a better player), but I loved the look and feel of the clubs when I tested them. Got a great deal on the Calloway Pre-owned, as usual. Traded a set of Ping i10s. Some practice, a couple of lessons and I'm shooting better then I have in years. Mid 80s and going lower (I hope). I do admit that they were hard to hit at first, but man these are great clubs. Project X Flighted shafts finished the deal. Buy these clubs!! August 24, 2011
T he best irons ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love them !!! i will be selling all my others clubs !!!!!!!!!!!!! June 21, 2011
Solid Irons I have played Callaway irons from X-14 Pro series, FT irons, Diabolo Forged irons and just switched to 2009 X-Forged irons with nippon 1100 (the same irons Graeme McDowell won the 2010 US Open). I must say they are the BEST players irons that I have ever played. Its long, accurate, workable and sweetest feeling irons. No negative, just all positive! May 13, 2011
Best yet from Callaway I bought these irons as replacements for a set of X-18 pro's and I couldn't be happier. The X-18's were good clubs, but had more offset that made working the ball difficult. With these X- forged, the heads are set virtually square and I can move the ball left or right. Distance is about the same, but the forged heads generate much more feed back and solid hits feel like butter. February 17, 2010
