In the early 90's I was playing the mini tours here in California trying to get on tour. I played the X-12's and the X-14's as Callaway was kind enough to fit and customize my equipment at no charge for me when no other manufacture would.
Now that I am a regular working guy, 50 hours a week plus, I went back to a set of irons I played my best with. Bought them 2 months ago and finally got a chance to hit balls today.
Sooooo solid...love the rifle shaft! I was able to flight the ball and shape it no problem. Can't wait for my next days off to tackle Torrey South with my old, NEW irons!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dave in PDX Superb golf clubs
My main golfing irons from age 50-60, were the Steelhead X-14 irons with X-Stiff graphite shafts. I was reluctant to try them but found the stiffness of the shaft to be a plus, rather than a minus.
These golfing irons provided to me:
Excellent shot making ability. Could work the ball any direction and hit low or punch shots. Put lot's of spin on the golf ball. A low profile appearance, something I definately value in an iron.
With the graphtie shafts I did experience slight difficulty with green-side chipping.
All in all, a superb set of golfing irons for the lower handicap player.
If you are a low handicap golfer with a high swing speed, and possibly suffering a bit of arthritis or tendonitis, these golf clubs are made to order for you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Andy Great Forgiveness w/ Thin Profile
I bought a used 3-iron and used sandwedge to add to my 4-GW set of Maltby blades. They have a nice thin profile when you are looking over the ball and are still very forgiving.

I've hit the same set of X-14 Pro Series irons with Dvnamic Gold S-300 shafts since 2002 I think. I've hit them so much that you can see quarter sized wear spots on many of the clubs. You have to hit cast clubs a lot to get those. I've demoed new irons that go perhaps 5 or even 10 yards farther but they just can't match the accuracy. I'll probably hit these till I die, God willing.

I returned to golf about 5 years ago after breaking my spine and bought myself a second hand set of X-14 Pro series 2 - SW.
These clubs helped get me back in the game and in no time I had the confidence that I could get my handicap back down to 6 / 7 where I used to be. They look great at address and feel superb, the feedback you receive from them really helps you fine tune your game and even the 2 iron is pretty forgiving.
I'm getting my custom fit Mizuno MP59's in 2 days and have just been to the range to hit my X14's for the last time and I've decided to keep them in the garage for the odd round in the future.
Best of the X series by far!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Johnny A Irons were in very good shape
I was looking for the old school Steelhead irons as I borrowed a friends many years ago. After a long child-induced layoff from golf, these are a great addition to my bag. They feel great, they are consistent, and they are comfortable. For the price, they were a great deal. I highly recommend these.

I have the X14 Pro Series 3-PW and 54 Degree SW with X Stiff Rifle Shafts. I cannot stress enough that everyone I have let hit them now knows how it is SUPPOSED to feel when you strike a golf ball. Put theses clubs in your bag!
