The Hawk Eye VFT Irons are everything that Callaway Golf has learned about iron design poured into a titanium package. A unique casting process creates a large, lightweight titanium clubhead with perimeter weighting and VFT Technology; the striking appearance is created by a proprietary finishing process.       I bought a set of Hawkeye VFT's in 2004 and they cost me $1800 in the UK and were by far the most expensive iron on the market by some margin. These were way ahead of the game then and offered the casual golfer a real advantage with the weight distribution around the club face. They are still up there and I never traded my set which I use from time to time. I purchased the X22 with steel shafts as I needed a club with more feel than the Hawkeyes. At just around the $400USD mark these are a real bargain for a new golfer and I would seriously recommend these to someone starting out over packaged sets at around the same cost from other companies. Having just used the Hawkeyes again its amazing just how much they get the ball in the air (a tad too much for me these days) but ideal for the starter golfer who struggles to get the ball in the air. I'm a great fan of Callaway stuff and these are Callaway at their best. BUY.

        I just turned 70 and have been playing for just over a year. I upgraded to the Hawkeye VFT's in hopes for help in improving my iron play. After just a couple of "adjustment" rounds they are more than living up to their reputation. I'm now able to hit confident 4 iron shots and am enjoying an improved game from all irons. Broke 100 for the first time last week.

              This was the perfect choice for a new golfer. The Hawkeye VFT Irons have many of the features of the newest models, but a pricepoint that is extremely reasonable for someone just starting out. I love the light weight for my slow swing speed, and the graphite shafts are very forgiving when I mis-hit.

                    It took me a couple of rounds and a tip from a friend to discover the graphite shafts on the Callaways were about 1/2 inch longer than the steel shafts on my old blubs so I choke up a little now.

                        We do not make the System 75 Firm flex anymore but our standard Callaway Graphite shaft in Stiff flex will be very comparable. That is the stock graphite shaft for our new irons.
