Product Overview

The Steelhead X-16 Pro Series Irons have a more blade-like design than the standard X-16 irons for those looking for more shot-shaping flexibility and who prefer to hit the ball with a bit lower trajectory. Less-Offset, thinner toplines, narrower soles and a straighter leading edge than the standard X-16s result in a lean, compact design that allows skilled players the freedom to work the ball and control trajectory – while still benefiting from exceptional forgiveness. The high-energy smoked finish is durable and distinctive.

Comments about Callaway Golf Steelhead X-16 Pro Series Irons:

I bought these irons to replace my other irons and they have added atleast ten yards per iron. I bought my other irons new last year and wish I would have known about Callaway preowned. I am shooting the best rounds of my life and my handicap doesn't even reflect my game. It just keeps dropping.

                          A:

The Pro Series irons will have less offset, and have a slightly smaller overall head than the regular irons. They will not be as forgiving, but will allow you to shape the ball more.

                      • Q:

Can you please explain what you mean by "flat" and "up"" with regard to lie angle? I am buying clubs for my future son-in-law who is 6'5", and he needs the clubs to be bent so he can stand more upright.

                        Thank you.

                          A:

A flat lie angle is usually for someone that is a little bit shorter than average, and an upright lie angle is made for someone a little bit taller than average. For your son-in-law who is 6'5", I would recommend going with at least 1 or 2 degree upright lie angle. For more information and pricing on customization, please call our sales department at 1-800-200-4726.

                        • A:

I am 6'5" and have played since 6 years old. My irons are 2 degrees upright to facilitate the way I swing. If your son in law stands more upright with clubs that have a standard lie angle, the toe is going be lower at impact causing it to grab.

The proper way to tell how many degrees upright is get go somewhere, have them tape the bottom of irons with several lie angles, and find which allows the most even surface contact.
for quick reference, I am 6'5" an 8 handicap and use Mizuno MP60 irons +3/4" 2 degrees upright.
