Product Overview

The Steelhead X-14 Irons feature stainless steel construction and Variable Face Thickness (VFT) Technology to ensure a precisely located center of gravity. Face thickness tapers strategically from top to bottom and heel to toe and is optimized in the long, mid and short irons. This helps promote more forgiveness and a greater resistance to twisting at impact.

I had a set of these and my Dad really liked them. That was when the x16's had just come out. After years of wondering I took the deal the Callway offered with Phil winning and I love the X14.

If you are a beginner, the best clubs to look at are any of our Big Bertha irons. They will offer the most forgiveness of any of the irons we sell and will help get the ball in the air easily. The X Series irons are forgiving as well, but will not offer as much forgiveness as the Big Bertha irons. For more information please call our sales department at 1-800-200-4726.

just starting out is too early to tell what kind of club is best for you. you have to learn how to hit consistence and be able to know and feel what you are doing wrong or right. x-14's are a good club to start out with.

The shafts for the X-14 sets are going to be .370 and parallel. We recommend having the iron reshafted by an authorized Callaway dealer.

                    • Q:

                      1. What is meant by "2 up" in reference to an X-14 iron set? Does this mean the toe is up 2 degrees?

                      2. I have had a set of X-14 irons for about 10 years and they're great clubs. When I bought them, the salesman said something about Callaway refurbishing the face of the clubs after they got worn. Are you able to make the club faces of older irons like new again?

                      3. If the X-14 irons can't be refurbished, which of your newer iron sets are most like the X-14s?

                      Thanks!

                        A:

2 up refers to the lie angle and that means the toe will be up 2 degrees. We can refurbish clubs for a nominal fee to make them look like they did when you bought them. All of the X series irons will be very comparable to each other, our newest is the X-22 irons.

If your swing speed is still that fast then I would look into getting a steel uniflex shaft. The uniflex is a constant weight shaft and will be between a regular and stiff flex shaft.
