Product Overview

Finally, a driver that combines wicked power and distance with the generous sweet spot Big Bertha® is famous for. New Edge Technology provides a high MOI and an optimized CG location for Draw or Neutral models that produce long, penetrating ball flights with the desired shot shape. It also helps golfers release the club at impact with full power, especially when swinging aggressively. Hyperbolic Face Technology increases ball speed across the entire face of the club helping send balls further down the fairway, even on miss-hits. The Big Bertha Diablo Driver performs like no other all-titanium driver we’ve ever created.

my girlfriend bought me this driver for my birthday. this driver rocks. i'm getting about 20 extra yards off the tee and hitting it straighter then I did my Ping G2. first time out shot a 76 because my drives stayed in play. You cant go wrong with this incredible driver.

what's the shortest that I can cut the shaft down before it's messes up the whole dynamic/ physics of the club? I know that it comes standard at 45 inches but most tour players are at 43.5-44.5 inches. I want to cut it down to 43 or 43.5 and was wondering if this will really screw up the club.

              • CUSTOMER CARE

                A:

Any altering of length will effect the weight and flex of the shaft up to a certain point. Usually you cannot tell a huge difference in weight or flex until you cut more than 2 inches off the shaft. If you want to cut it down to 43 inches, you should have no problems.

Which is a better overall driver for an average golfer the diablo or the ft5

              • CUSTOMER CARE

                A:

Both the Diablo and the Ft-5 will be a good driver for the average golfer. They are both available in a Draw and Neutral bias. The Diablo will be more forgiving and less hot off the face.

            • Q:

I presently have a big berth diablo driver with an 11 degree draw in senior flex. I'm a 58 year old 20 handicap who's had back surgery and I have a slow swing speed. I usually hit the diable straight, with a little fade at the end, occassionally a draw. I hit a high ball and feel that I'm losing distance to height and lack of run. I will hit the Diable 200 to 230 yards depending. Should I go to a lower loft like a 10 degree or a 9 degree in senior flex?

                A:

If you are hitting the ball higher than you would like, you can either change lofts or get a shaft with a higher kick point with the same senior flex. To talk with a experienced sales person please call 1-800-200-4726 and they will be glad to assist you further.

Don't go less than 10 degree. Even Tiger has gone to a 10 degree loft due to age and he is younger than you and I.

              • CUSTOMER CARE

                A:

I would recommend going down to a 10 degree. You are hitting the ball far enough but going down a degree will help out a little bit with ball flight and a little more roll.

What degree of loft do you recommend for an otherwise short-hitting 20-handicapper with a slice tendency?

                A:

I would recommend an 11 degree Diablo Driver with a draw bias. The draw bias is weighted to help decrease a slice and help to promote a draw. For more information call our sales department at 1-800-200-4726.

              • A:

I would almost be 100% accurate stating that you would be hitting your 3 wood as far as you would hit your driver. If that is the case, I would say, stick with your 3 wood. The rule of the game is to keep your ball in short stuff. But if you want to try a driver, here is my take. I am a 25 handicapper and use a 10 degree lofted driver, but I tend to hit a high ball that is why I have the lower loft. I believe a higher handicapper should hit the highest lofted driver they can find as you want to get your ball high in the air to maximize the distance. Mind you not a pop up, but high enough to take advantage of any air current that flows above us. I think most high handicappers are in the 10.5 to 11 degree loft range. I would not suggest anything lower than 10 degrees. As a FYI, I hit the fairway 98% of the time and I am known to be a sneakly long driver, hit the ground and let it roll. Good luck!

Define average condition, good condition and very good condition.

              1 answer

              • CUSTOMER CARE

                A:

Average clubs will show normal wear from frequent play and may have natural scratches, pop up marks and/or bag wear on the shaft. These are great clubs for those looking for performance and value and are less concerned about cosmetics.

Good clubs have seen normal use (usually several seasons) but are in better than average shape for that particular model club. They may have some cosmetic imperfections but will look better than the average club in most players’ bags.

Very Good clubs have clearly been hit but are in fantastic shape. They may have a few scratches if you look closely but will still look like the newest club in most bags.

The Diablo driver is a really good selection for a higher handicap golfer. You can't go wrong with any of our drivers. I would suggest something in a higher loft like 10° or more. Please call our sales team if you have further questions.

The HT (High Trajectory) club is designed to get the ball in the air easier. Anything with a higer loft is easier to control. You should be able to control this club better but you could lose distance because of the high loft.

A senior flex shaft is designed for someone with a slow swing speed of about 70-80 mph and a draw bias means that weighting in the club head will promote a draw in the ball flight.

I am deciding between diabolo and the bertha 460. I have high swing speed (hit 280 - 300 yrds with my current 10 degree steelhead III with steel shaft when hit correctly) and a pull/draw/hook tendency. I also have no problem getting the ball up. Looking for a club that is easier to hit straighter. Can you please advise me on which club (among the two) and shaft stiffness will be a better choice or if there is not a big difference?

The Diablo is a newer club and will give you a little more distance over the BB 460. Both clubs are forgiving and will be comparable in terms of playability. As someone with a higher swing speed I would recommend a stiff shaft.

                A:

The draw bias will promote a draw on the golf ball based on the weighting in the head of the golf club. Players who have a tendency to slice the ball will tend to use a draw bias. A standard or neutral club will have neutral head weighting and will not promote a draw or a fade, but will rather allow the player to work the ball right to left or left to right.

The stiff flex will allow a longer ball flight/distance than the regular flex if your swing speed is designed for a stiff flex. Please contact our sales department at 800-200-4726, and they can assist you with what flex may be best for you.

Draw bias is for golfers with a fade or slice. This will help them straighten that out. Neutral is for golfers that typically hit it pretty straight. Both will look the same when you set it down but the weighting inside is different on both.

The uniflex shaft is a light weight regular flex steel shaft. The senior shaft is a light weight graphite shaft. Steel is going to be more consistant with the distance of the shot, and graphite will increase the distance of the shot.

The standard version of the Big Bertha Diablo driver is only produced in full degree lofts from 8-11, and 13. There is a 10.5 degree Diablo that is produced in our Tour Authentic line, but the club is slightly different. It has a full length hosel, is neutrally weighted, and is set up 1.5 degrees open. Tour Authentic products are available through phone purchase only.

Do yourself a favor; if you have rotator cuff problems, go with
the Callaway Graphite senior shaft. It is a lot softer on your
shoulders. There is less vibration in a graphite, also the senior shaft is less stressfull to joints giving better yardage on an easier swing. This is what I experienced after switching. I had no perceivable loss of accuracy or distance. Good luck........Doc

The Draw version of this club will have more weight distributed towards the heel of the golf club. It is designed to help reduce a fade, or promote a draw. The Draw will also have a slightly deeper, or taller, face than the neutral version making it slightly more forgiving.
