Product Overview

The Big Bertha 460 Driver is designed with a geometric shape close to the dimensional limit set by the USGA and Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews for length and width. This enabled Callaway Golf engineers to incorporate a 460cc head design with a shallower face, flatter shape and the highest MOI ever in a Callaway Golf all-titanium head. That means a longer and straighter ball flight on off-center shots. In addition, the Stretched Head Design allows the CG to be positioned deeper within the clubhead to achieve optimum ball flight and maximum forgiveness.

Comments about Callaway Golf Big Bertha 460 Drivers:

i got a lot less distance but it is the most forgiving driver i have ever hit. hits in the middle of the fairway most every shot (which is wierd for me). So overall i am happy to give up some distance to play from the short grass

Very accurate driver straight off the tee, with the proper shaft this is a shot saver off of the tee, it keeps you out of the woods. Distance is good but accurate saves the day.

I had a Big Bertha 460 driver a few years back. I upgraded several times to drivers that I hoped would give me improved accuracy and distance. I never found either. Thanks to Callaway Pre-Owned, I was able to put the BB 460 back in my bag. It is the best driver I have ever owned.

Comments about Callaway Golf Big Bertha 460 Drivers:

I just purchased this club and have used it once on the course...I had my best outing ever! With my old club (10,5 loft), I couldn't get the ball down. I hit the ball too high...I bought the Big Bertha 9 degree loft and stiff shaft and am in love with it. Balance, weight, shaft and the club head are perfect for me! Definitely recommend!!!

Average clubs have been used but not abused. They will show normal wear from frequent play and may have natural scratches, pop up marks and/or bag wear on the shaft. These are great clubs for those looking for performance and value and are less concerned about cosmetics.

A senior flex shaft is designed for someone with a slower swing speed (70-80 mph) and a regular flex is designed for someone with a swing speed any where from 80-90 mph.

                      A:

Very good will only have around 10-15 rounds of golf with no major scratches on the club.
Good will have around 30 rounds and will have small scratches on the face and bottom of club.
Average will have about 50+ rounds and will have paint chips and scratches on the crown and faces.

All conditions will play the same. The only difference will be cosmetic.

The Big Bertha 460 does not come in a 10*5 degree. The difference however between the 10*5 degree head and a 10 degree head will be the trajectory as the 10*5 degree head will have a slightly higher trajectory.

                  • Q:

Does the Big Bertha 460 have the equivalent soft feel that can be found in an old Big Bertha War Bird ladies club (12 degrees) that I borrowed in an emergency recently? This club was most forgiving. Yet with a full swing, I was able to work this club with comparatively good line and distance. What impressed me about this club was its 'feel' and forgiving nature. (It had a good sound to it, too, although a little loud.)

This is what I am trying to find in a new purchase of a Callaway driver.

Joe Kralis has recommended this club and I see no reason not to go with it.

                    I need a men's club with:
                    11 degree loft
                    Regular flex
                    Right-handed
                    Swing: full turn
                    Weight: 10 stone
                    Height: 5' 9"
                    Age; 59

Guys, any thoughts or advice to confirm my purchasing decision?

                    Much appreciated,

                    Nigel Leyson

                    • A:

Firstly, since this club is so different from the warbird that you should try it first. And if the shaft you want to use may be "A" since you like the soft feel, distance and control you get with a soft shaft. These titanium clubs sound much different from the steel clubs and are a bit quieter nevertheless.
