Product Overview

The Big Bertha 460 Driver is designed with a geometric shape close to the dimensional limit set by the USGA and Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews for length and width. This enabled Callaway Golf engineers to incorporate a 460cc head design with a shallower face, flatter shape and the highest MOI ever in a Callaway Golf all-titanium head. That means a longer and straighter ball flight on off-center shots. In addition, the Stretched Head Design allows the CG to be positioned deeper within the clubhead to achieve optimum ball flight and maximum forgiveness.

Comments about Callaway Golf Big Bertha 460 Drivers:

I am 64 years old,I haven't never ben abled to hit a dirver in my life,so I didn't carry one in my golf bag, I use a 3 fairway meatle, and one day I asked my ferend if I could hit his big bertha460, I couldn't beleve the distance that I got off the tee box, also the speed off the club head was so fast and the ball went straight and long distant,it was hard to belive. I have bought big head drivers but with no sucess of hitting long and straight, after 2or3 holes I just leave them in golf bag,and when I get home I take the big head drivers out for good! 8-27-09 I purchased a Big Bertha 460:and it is stayiny my golf bag, Thank's Callaway for making this Big Bertha 460: Very well pleased.

Comments about Callaway Golf Big Bertha 460 Drivers:

I have played just two rounds with this club and love it. Great feel and forgiving. I was using a Taylor Made driver but it just didn't feel right so I went back to a Callaway. As a medium handicapper the 460 is the perfect club for me.

                  A:

Average clubs have been used but not abused. They will show normal wear from frequent play and may have natural scratches, pop up marks and/or bag wear on the shaft. These are great clubs for those looking for performance and value and are less concerned about cosmetics.

How much difference is there from avg to good to very good?

                1 answer

                • CUSTOMER CARE

                  A:

Very good will only have around 10-15 rounds of golf with no major scratches on the club.
Good will have around 30 rounds and will have small scratches on the face and bottom of club.
Average will have about 50+ rounds and will have paint chips and scratches on the crown and faces.

All conditions will play the same. The only difference will be cosmetic.

The Big Bertha 460 does not come in a 10*5 degree. The difference however between the 10*5 degree head and a 10 degree head will be the trajectory as the 10*5 degree head will have a slightly higher trajectory.

              • Q:

Does the Big Bertha 460 have the equivalent soft feel that can be found in an old Big Bertha War Bird ladies club (12 degrees) that I borrowed in an emergency recently? This club was most forgiving. Yet with a full swing, I was able to work this club with comparatively good line and distance. What impressed me about this club was its 'feel' and forgiving nature. (It had a good sound to it, too, although a little loud.)

This is what I am trying to find in a new purchase of a Callaway driver.

Joe Kralis has recommended this club and I see no reason not to go with it.

                I need a men's club with:
                11 degree loft
                Regular flex
                Right-handed
                Swing: full turn
                Weight: 10 stone
                Height: 5' 9"
                Age; 59

Guys, any thoughts or advice to confirm my purchasing decision?

                Much appreciated,

                Nigel Leyson

Asked on 9/28/2009 by Nige from Malta

                1 answer

                • A:

Firstly, since this club is so different from the warbird that you should try it first. And if the shaft you want to use may be "A" since you like the soft feel, distance and control you get with a soft shaft. These titanium clubs sound much different from the steel clubs and are a bit quieter nevertheless.

Get 11 degrees - it will be easier to hit and give you more distance
