Played for a number of years, beginning to take the game more seriously. Realized that oversized club heads are not for me, not mention a 9.5 degree driver was far to difficult for me to hit. Switching to this club was an easy decision, and the 11 degree loft has straightened out the ball path allowing me to put more into the swing and hit farther.

The club came in great condition considering it is more than a decade old! You can certainly tell that it was used, but it is still in as good of shape as any other club in my bag.

Definitely would recommend the club as well as the Callaway pre-owned site.

i bought the club for the name thinking anything big bertha would be an improvement in my bag. The truth is that the club when hit correctly still does not give me the distance i got with my last driver and its without a doubt less accurate. The head is not as large as I expected therefore it has a small sweetspot.

i love this club...i sold my clubs about 10 years ago...and have now just picked the game back up... i use to have one of these and super happy i found this site, the club arrived in great shape just as described...couldn't be happier :)

Being the first really good club that I own, I have to get use to the better craftsmanship in the club. It has already improved my play off the tee and I hope that I can get more Callaway's as soon as I can.

This is the best driver ever made for people who are trying to develop a good swing:

* It is big enough and forgiving enough to be encouraging.
* It has just enough weight to slow a beginner's swing down, to help develop control and tempo.
* It provides enough spin, but not too much. A mistake will produce an arching flight into the fairway, not a slice into the rough.

I recommend original Big Berthas to every beginner.

I have the Original Big Bertha Driver, 3 & 5 wood plus the 1988 S2H2 irons. I still play with the irons which are still as good as any irons out there. While I always loved the Driver, it is definitely dated. The smaller head and crisp alignment still make it a very accurate club, but newer drivers will give you a little more distance and forgiveness.

If you want an inexpensive driver, I would recommend the Biggest Big Bertha, still goes as long as many of the new drivers.

For the price ($22.00), to own an Original Big Bertha is kind of cool! It's a conversation piece and still hits great! They are great for a beginner who doesn't want to spend a whole lot at first, or a person who enjoys the classics. It was my first buy from Callaway Golf Pre-owned, and I don't regret it a bit!
