Comments about Callaway Golf FT Irons:

Fitted for the FT's end of 2009. Discontinued the line in 2010. Could not purchase new anywhere. [...] Found what I was looking for with the 2 deg. rise already adjusted. Saved 50% on cost and I am enjoying the game of Golf again. What else can I say!

Comments about Callaway Golf FT Irons:

The FT irons are very clean looking, with a thinner top-line and mild offset. The black inserts on the back look great and really do seem to reduce vibration on mis-hits. The heads are also a little more compact than typical Callaway game-improvement irons, but still very easy to hit. The FTs seem like the best of both worlds - a forgiving, game-improvement feel with a player's iron look and workability.

Comments about Callaway Golf FT Irons:

I was a 13 handicap when I basically stopped playing golf in 2003 for various reasons. At the time I was playing Tommy Armour 845s.

When I decided to re-dedicate myself to the game at the beginning of the season in 2010 (I live in Chicago-metro so that's April) I was struggling in virtually every aspect of the game.

After a few refresher lessons and getting my old swing back, I was still struggling to keep up with my new peers (8-12 handicaps). Equipment upgrades were obviously necessary.

I was swinging all types of clubs and never found much of a differnce until I picked up an FT 6-iron. My first swing shocked me. When I got to the top of my swing it felt like the club couldn't wait to come down and almost swung itself. For the first time I felt a dramatic differnce in club feel. Everything else paled in comparison at that point and I had to have a set of FTs.

Purchasing them on the pre-owned site was great value. They are in excellent condition and I got a great price.

Just 3 weeks after purchasing them, I had my first round that looked like my "old" scores and I'm looking forward to improving from there.

                  Thanks Callaway Pre-Owned!

Like New clubs are nearly impossible to differentiate from new. They have been hit very few times, if at all, and show almost no wear. These clubs may have been refinished at some point.

If your considering the FT's with the graphite shaft you are really on the right track,(in my humble opinion.) I've been playing awhile now with a real bad left shoulder, had to drop from stiff steel clubs to regular graphite. I shopped around awhile and these are some of the best I've ever owned. Almost back down to my 10 hdcp.

Willy,''I am a few years younger than you and have a similar handicap. I tried senior flex and regular flex which resulted in a consistent fade or slice. The senior flex launced the ball 4-5 football fields to the right. I went to a stiff flex, cavity backed, club with a steel shaft and have experiencing a slow but steady improvement in accuracy and distance. It seems that I now play a driver, a mid iron and a wedge, finishing with a putter on every hole. Now, putting is my recurring problem. My best advice is for you to the golf shop and swing a several different types of clubs on different days. Choose the best feel and performance, then take the new clubs out for a try. I hope this helps coming from a golfer with similar characteristics. Truly, the best first step is to accept assitance from the golf shop and a lesson from a pro.

Try the FT Wide Sole, They are the easiest I have ever hit. Even if you find a set in average Condition, you wont be dissapointed. They are the best out there. They dont make them anymore, but you know how club companies are, they have to change something every year.

The i-brids are like a hybrid-type iron, whereas the FT irons are more like a traditional iron. The i-brids will offer a little bit more forgiveness, and will be a little bit easier to hit in the air.

A uniflex shaft has is in between a regular and stiff flex and is the most common shaft in golf. It adjusts to your swing speed so if you swing fast it will play as a stiff, and if you swing slower it plays like a regular flex.

If you like the hybrids in your higher irons, I would suggest going with the FT i-brids. They will have hybrid type irons in the 3, 4 and 5 irons, which are very easy to hit, and regular irons in the 6-PW. The FT irons are a great iron as well, but with your current set makeup, I would recommend the FT i-brids.

The Big Bertha 08 shafts have a weight ranging from 71-78 grams, have a mid/low torque, and low kick point. For more information on these clubs, please call our sales team at 1-800-200-4726.

I would recommend the X-22 iron set. I would get professionally fitted first so that they can check to see what length and/or lie you would need so you get the correct irons.

As a 5'7" golfer myself, please rest assured I have your enjoyment in mind. If you are hooking your irons, check the basics before you go out and buy again....
-First, make sure your X-18's "fit".
-(Did you have shaft trimmed 1/2"?)
-(Did and have lie moved 1 degree "Up"/Gold?)
-Does flex match your swing speed (know it, by the way?)
-Make certain your weapons complement the warrior...getting fitted can save several hooked iron shots EVERY ROUND.

if ur normal shot is a draw and sometimes a hook then i would go one up. when u go one flat that means your lie is already on the heel of the club causing a draw or hook. going one up will help you get straighter

Uniflex, Regular, Graphite, I don't know. My Pro said 5.0 Rifle for the X20, what do you suggest for my next purchase?

If you were having trouble hitting the sweet spot with the X-20 irons, I would suggest going with the FT irons. They will offer great forgiveness, while still maintaining a thin look. If your swing speed is still around 90 mph, I would go with the uniflex shaft. This shaft plays in between a regular and stiff shaft and will adjust to your swing speed. That being said, if your swing speed decreases in the next few years, that shaft would still be a great fit for you.

                          A:

At 6 feet tall standard length will work great. A light (senior) shaft is made for someone with a swing speed under 80 mph. A regular shaft is made for someone with a swing speed from 80-90 mph. A uniflex shaft has is in between a regular and stiff flex and is the most common shaft in golf. It adjusts to your swing speed so if you swing fast it will play as a stiff, and if you swing slower it plays like a regular flex.

The Memphis 10 shaft was the stock steel shaft from 1988 until around 1999. It is a uniflex shaft which means it will adjust to your swing speed and it will play between a regular and a stiff flex. Unfortunately, we no longer manufacture this shaft.
