great set of forged irons ! Not for high handicappers. If you are a good ball striker then these are for you. June 25, 2013
"Just as I had hoped for" I needed an upgrade from my ping g-10s and these were just the irons I needed to take my game to the next level. I immediately felt a difference and gained 5-8 yards on each club. October 16, 2010
Great clubs A little heavy club, but great feel from the forging. Sweet spot is smaller, and the soles are a bit more narrow than game-improvement irons. In other words, these should be used by good ball strikers. May 29, 2011
Wow After a full season of hooks and pulls with my irons I decided to start looking into a set with little to no offset. Came across these on black friday and couldn't pass up the deal that Callaway had going. Said they were in "average" condition which had me nervous until I opened the box. A few dings here and there but nothing that suggested anything more than being in someone's bag for a few rounds. The club faces were quite impressive. VERY little wear and looked as if someone took them to the range a handful of times. Major kudos to Callaway for the condition of these clubs. Decided to take them to the range one night despite it being quite chilly. Bad results followed. However, I was making bad swings with all of my other clubs as well. Finally got a nice day today and decided to go play a round. (75 and sunny in December!!!!). As soon as I started warming up I could tell a difference. Drawing the ball is easy. Fading the ball is REALLY easy. Something I was incapable of with my old offset irons. Feedback is incredible. You know when you didn't catch it right immediately although slight mishits still carry quite well for a tour style iron. When you hit these on the sweet spot it is like hitting a ball of butter. Absolutely amazing feel. Ball flight was high and penetrating with soft landings on the green. I have trouble getting enough backspin but even 4 and 5 irons sat about 5 or 6 feet from my ball mark. I did expect a bit more distance considering I just upgraded to these from 13 year old irons. But I've noticed that the lofts are also weaker than my old clubs for some strange reason. So I believe these will get a bit of bending in the near future. All in all I couldn't be happier with my purchase from Callaway Preowned and look forward to trying out other Callaway products. Irons are easy to hit I bought this set to have a spare at home when I travel in the winter. I leave my clubs in Myrtle Beach, but like having the security of having a set at home in case the weather breaks earlier. In fact, I like these clubs so much, I wish they were my 1st set. I am playing Callaway Forged now. February 3, 2012
Workability a plus I bought a set 3-pw used years ago . They came to me in like new condition as apparently , the guy who owned them before me never played much. I set about learning my new irons, after first having them fit for me and with the addition of Lamkin crossline 1/8 oversize with two wraps and quickly fell in love with their workability. During my first year , ( and I play everyday) many of the name plates came off , but I was not to be detoured I loved the way these clubs played. Into my second year , I had the shafts changed ( they were graphite ) and went to True Temper steel shafts as I believed there to be less shaft twisting and was proven right as now the flight was just a bit more consistent. Now after having played these irons for years with just an occasional grip change ( yearly) and the addition of Vokey wedges , I feel very confidant when I address the ball. August 4, 2015
Great set of irons! I love the look and feel of these irons. They are also very forgiving and allow you to work the ball. I bought 3-pw in average condition and I got them in great condition with brand new grips. Thanks Callaway for the great service! May 30, 2013
One of the best ever, Callaway or not. I tried them all. This is the best feeling irons that also deliver forgiveness. Diablo Forged rivals, but these sit more comfortably with less offset. I can work it left and right, when I do right (even with a Hcp index 11). Stock shaft is DG, but I reshafted these with Nippon in 110 gram range, which retained soft feel but eliminated the "heaviness". These feel much "buttery" than any Mizunos and Titleists I have tried and played. Clearly the best feel, forgiveness, and workability combination of ANY irons by ANYBODY. Now can be had at reasonable price. Only knock is that face wears more easily than cast irons, because of it soft metal construction. I am in the process of securing the second set. . . Only thing that can come close to this might be if Callaway made Diablo Forged with less offset. January 27, 2012
