Steelhead X-14 Pro Series Irons
Solid and Forgiving for Any Skill Level
In the early 90's I was playing the mini tours here in California trying to get on tour. I played the X-12's and the X-14's as Callaway was kind enough to fit and customize my equipment at no charge for me when no other manufacture would.
Now that I am a regular working guy, 50 hours a week plus, I went back to a set of irons I played my best with. Bought them 2 months ago and finally got a chance to hit balls today.
Sooooo solid...love the rifle shaft! I was able to flight the ball and shape it no problem. Can't wait for my next days off to tackle Torrey South with my old, NEW irons!!!

One of the best ever from Callaway
Excellent set of irons, still believe this is one of the best designs Callaway has produced.
Great feel, no problem with distance. Better results from miss-hits than deserved.
As always, club conditions were better than described.

Superb golf clubs
My main golfing irons from age 50-60, were the Steelhead X-14 irons with X-Stiff graphite shafts. I was reluctant to try them but found the stiffness of the shaft to be a plus, rather than a minus.
These golfing irons provided to me:
Excellent shot making ability. Could work the ball any direction and hit low or punch shots. Put lot's of spin on the golf ball. A low profile appearance, something I definately value in an iron.
With the graphtie shafts I did experience slight difficulty with green-side chipping.
All in all, a superb set of golfing irons for the lower handicap player.
If you are a low handicap golfer with a high swing speed, and possibly suffering a bit of arthritis or tendonitis, these golf clubs are made to order for you.

Great iron set, owened before, Callaway's best years.
Shaft thru design I find the best design Callaway has come up with !

In the bag since 2002
I've hit the same set of X-14 Pro Series irons with Dvnamic Gold S-300 shafts since 2002 I think. I've hit them so much that you can see quarter sized wear spots on many of the clubs. You have to hit cast clubs a lot to get those. I've demoed new irons that go perhaps 5 or even 10 yards farther but they just can't match the accuracy. I'll probably hit these till I die, God willing.

Great Forgiveness w/ Thin Profile
I bought a used 3-iron and used sandwedge to add to my 4-GW set of Maltby blades. They have a nice thin profile when you are looking over the ball and are still very forgiving.

I bought this iron as a replacement for a lost club.
It doesn't go as far as the old one.
Impact is a thud..
Can I return it?
