When it was finally time to replace my old clubs, I researched for weeks before choosing Big Bertha 2006 irons. The info I read led me to believe they were the best game improvement irons available, and were more than suitable as your game progressed and control became more of an issue. The info wasn't wrong...
These clubs are extremely forgiving of a miss hit, and as a result my game quickly built confidence.... but what really got my attention was their performance when I squared one up. The old saying "let the clubs do the work" is epitomized by these irons. A friend convinced me to back off my swing and see what happened. He was right: I found I could cut my swing speed by 15%, yet add 10-15 yards of distance per club. Plus, the slower swing speed improved my accuracy.
The touch, feel, and balance of these clubs is excellent - as I got familiar with them, the nuances they brought out of my game was outstanding - especially in my short game.
For the record, my BB '06's have graphite shafts with regular flex. They were rated as "like new", and the rating was extremely accurate. Since I got my original 4-SW set, I've added a matching 3 iron, gap wedge, and lob wedge.
In summary, I think Big Bertha '06 irons would be a great choice for beginners, and for people who struggle with blades (that was me). I also think they'd be perfect for people with back problems &/or with slower swing speeds - I know from experience that they really do add distance and improve accuracy while letting you back off your swing!

Since I was already a fan of Big Bertha Irons, I thought I would upgrade to the 2006 graphite shaft model. I'm glad I did. They hit sweet and far.

Although this club was listed as "Average" this Approach Wedge was missing the black O-ring above the hosel. Cosmetically ugly. It seems to me that the manufacture should at least let you know if the club is "missing" something regardless of its significance. This is something I would expect on [@], not from Callaway.

Lost my original wedge and needed a replacement this one is the same except for a reg. shaft. My other shafts are stiff so this gives me the chance to see the difference as I am getting older and need to move back to a regular shaft.

Solid feel, each club in set swings and feels like every other club. Blindolded you could not tell if you hit a 4 iron or a 7 iron. Great construction.

This was my first club I purchased ever and the 6 iron is awesome. It is so awesome to hit. I know that I am a beginner but with this club unless your really not focused your gonna hit it straight all the time. I cant wait to build up my bag with these clubs.
