Product Overview
The size of the clubhead and the volume of the cavity allowed Callaway Golf to push weight farther out to the edges of the clubhead. The sole was slightly modified and scultpted from the 1994 model to allow the club to pass through poor lies with less friction. This extreme perimeter-weighting and extra-wide and deep cavity back design means that the Big Bertha Iron is forgiving and friendly.

Rated 2 out of 5 by GET A GRIP NOT QUITE AS ADVERTISED
I purchased a set of Callaway 96 Big Berthas with the RCH 96 shafts. The set was advertised as like new. I paid a premium price for these sticks thinking that I would receive them in pristine condition. Premium price being twice the retail selling price as provided by the PGA Value Guide. Unfortunately these irons were not like new but in very average condition. I must say that the heads were in very good to excellent condition (they had been refinished) but the shafts and grips were both marginal. Every shaft showed excessive bag wear and burn marks that were consistent with heavy play. The grips (all though new) had been on the clubs way to long and were dry and to my suprise dirty. To top it off I sent several clubs as a Trade In and had to wait nearly 4 weeks after my initial request to have them finally returned to me. I will say this that when I did call and inform Callaway Preowned of the problem with the shafts and grips they never hesitated on allowing me to return them. However, when I look at the entire scenario of what I went through I am sorry but Callaway Preowned gets a grade of D. Their only saving grace was the gentlemen who finally located my Trade Ins (after sitting on a shelf unopened for 4 weeks) and was kind enough to over night them to me. He gets an A+.

Hit some of these a couple of weeks ago and feel in love. Look at Callaway Preowned and ordered the "like new" set. When I opened the box I was shocked. They looked new. Couldn't believe it. New grips, new shafts, and no scratches. Callaway did a great refirb job. Love the clubs.

Great feel and great looking out of the box. Great price and I'm very happy with them. I plan to trade up down the road and will be coming back for more buisness!!!!!

The club was in much better condition than I was led to believe. I think the rep wanted to be cautious, but the club was near new condition. I take care of my clubs and it came in better shape than them. Very, very satisfied!!
