Rounds played with my golden babies:since 1999: 800+
The first round I played them, I broke 80 for the first time. The 9, 7, and 3 have each blessed me with an ace. In '09 I tried two "high-end, high-tech" sets over a two-year period. I learned that "all that glitters is not gold." Only Calaway GOLD is gold. Birdie production fell and handicap rose. In '11, out of frustration with my sustained inferior performance, I dug my first loves out and begged for forgiveness. I shot a personal best of 69 with 6 birdies at Jacksonville's "Panther Creek." If you have ever played "The Panther", you just used a colorful euphemism of disbelief. The transfer of power from body to blade is soft and sweet. Imagine hitting a dollop of mashed potatoes with a peanut inside. I found the lob wedge for 10 bucks at Play it Again Sports. The first shot I hit was into to first 5 par at WGV "The King and The Bear" The 30yd shot checked backed to its ball mark for a tap in. The classy elegance and timeless beauty of these precision instruments will share quarters with my Taylormade artillary for a long time to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Derrick One of the best set of irons ever made.
I have a set of these 3 to SW. 3,4,5,6 are not in my bag because I have Callaway hybrids, but I found out that I can hit the long irons almost as well. The Golds have such a great feel and look good. I get lots of compliments on the links from other players about my great bag of clubs. The clubs shine up well with a bit of elbow grease but some users like the patina they get over time. . The seven iron has a replacement shaft but other than that the clubs are in great shape. Unlike stainless steel, they just seem to look good with use and with age. A pro at one of the better golf stores here told me that if I wanted a new set of irons I would have to consider a high end forged set to replace these if I wanted the same quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Maddo. An oldie but a goodie!
Love the feel of of the soft alloy heads and at the age of 60+ needed the extra whip in the RCH96 shaft to keep my length. They sit well behind the ball which adds confidence at set up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Del Boy Great Irons, so easy.
Great set of Irons. I have previously owned a set in graphite and wasn't crazy about the graphite shaft so I sold them. Big mistake. Have been using Ping Coppers/Titleist AP1s/Mizuno and none of them are as easy to use or as accurate as these.
Sold the Titleists and got myself a set of Bertha Golds with Memphis 10 shafts. Perfect!!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Crazy CJ I would buy these again
Bogey golfer and have used these clubs for over 10 years. I have the RCH 96 graphite shafts and they swing very easy. They hit a high tragetry shot with some spin.

It has replaced my sand wedge. I use it over bunkers to get to the green or any time it's less than 40' to the pin.
